If you hang the caulk gun upside down, the silicone drains a bit leaving a plug at the end.... then you just pull the plug out with your fingers next time you use the silicone. Works for me....
 
Dow Corning 732. Works with 15" of crankcase vacuum and works well with Ford FE's. I use it in place of the side seals and nails, china walls, etc. Goes on well, smooths with your finger, fills crevices, and comes apart easily.

I am in awe of this thread and all the personal experience that has been shared. I had a very unique application to seal,and this thread was a tremendous help.
When we remodeled our kitchen about 10 years ago,we went with a slate counter top and fabricated slate sink from Sheldon Slate. It is similar to this:

About 2 years ago,it started to leak. The company said "Sure,we'll fix it. Just remove it and bring it to us and...."
That wasn't an option. We tried Toyota FIPG,but that didn't last either. This thread led me to order some Dowsil 832 in black,and the results were nothing short of spectacular!
