Which G body is the hardest to put on a diet?? Which G body can be made the lightest race weight???

They are all about the same, including the Malibu as well. All the same frame, chassis, overall same dimensions, and gutted out to be a race car, they all can end up about the same. The only difference is that some models and years do not currently have lightweight body parts being made for them. But I plan to change that. Within the next few months, Ultra-Carbon should have every body panel for every 78-88 G-body available in carbon fiber. That will level the playing field and make ALL G-body cars equal.

PM me if I can help you with any parts.

Making a real window work in a frameless CF door is going to be a pain in the ass, but it is my goal. I should have both versions available soon. Doors should easily weigh under 9 pounds empty, possibly as little as 7 pounds with the full inner structure.

Just the opposite actually. Comparing the cars as they came from the factory, the Regals came with the most options and add the weight of the turbo setup on a Regal where a Monte or Cutlass with a 6cyl won't have a turbo. Those cars with a V8 versus the Regal with a turbo might be about even, but adding a V8 to a Regal evens things up again. Your original question about a gutted out race car and they are even. Stock from the factory, I would bet the Regal or whichever car had the most options is going to be the heaviest. Also, the 1978-1980 cars with the big steel bumpers are going to be heavier than the cars made after that with the plastic bumpers and foam inserts.

My malibu is 2709lbs without me in it.

That's with an F3R and the gear drive for it.
Precision Turbo PT4000 intercooler, a 7 gallon intercooler water tank full of water.
40 spline axles in a 9 inch and beadlocks.
25.3 chassis.
10lb fire system.
Full interior.

With a Radio in it!! :p

I'd also bet that the grandprix are among the heaviest g-body. My 81 weight just a bit under 3400 now after a basic diet. It was probably close to 3800 coming from the factory with a absolute full load, power everything. The grandprix also got all the extra frame and body bracing which adds a bit.

I'd definitely be interested in some carbon fiber panels. Order of preference for me would be: bolt on hood (stock, no cowl), front fenders, bolt on trunklid, doors (if they can take factory winders and glass). 78BR, I hope you're able to provide this stuff for us. I'm not in a rush and look forward to seeing them available.
