i just received my 82mm billet s400 a few weeks ago from dr turbo. im not sure what is needed that is not already posted in this section.

if there is something your concerned with id give forcedinductions a call or others to answer more specific questions you have.

 

The 82mm billet is their old turbo. I am more interested in their new sx range with 10 blade compressor wheel.

No one seems to have much info on their websites. Jegs have slowly started listing them.

 

Yea it's a 10 blade compressor wheel on a 96mm turbine wheel. Authentic BW compressor wheel. Not an aftermarket CW.

 

dont know of a 10 blade cw but if it is better than my brand new 82mm 6 blade i just got im gonna be agitated a bit.

 

I didnt know BW made billet wheels .

listing forged milled wheels. id say yup they sure are. not showing that in the s400 platform though.

Has anyone talked to someone in the know about the Gamma Ti turbine wheels, availability, sizes?? This could be a real game changer allowing quicker acceleration leading to much higher shaft speeds earlier in the run due to the considerable reduction in rotating mass.

 

The trouble with the gamma to seems to be shaft speed. They really don't tolerate being oversped. The largest turbine offered is 80mm major this far. This comes in the 9180 turbo. Interestingly enough they released a 9174 this year because people were oveespeeding and blowing up the 9180.

 

Subing to this as I too am ready to buy one on the t4 10 blade BW for my 6.0. Jose, if you have pricing with one of your covers pm me a price. Thx

jack are those vband i let housings available in 96mm wheel and the 1.32 ar? or do they not out flow the bigger wheel setup?

They are available in 96mm 1.30AR, I am running twin 80mm with this setup on 402cuin 18* SBC. They spool great and back pressure is 1:1 or better to 35psi.

 

88/96 10 blade sounds interesting.

How much hp will twins of these support on a sbf 440 cu. ? On alcohol?

 

Possibly 3000hp based on BW's catalog eatimate of ~1500hp each.

I just got off the phone with Mike @ Turbos Direct. I've decided to go GTX 88s for my new build.

 

Smart. They'll out perform anything from BW in that size range

 

Agreed. BW is saying to us that the compressor is 160lbs/min just like the 88mm GTX.
I doubt the turbine is up to the task like the GT55 is.

 

I have been running a pair of the new 10 blade 72/87 T4 turbos on my 441" Lsx 275 radial car. This past weekend we went over 159 mph to the 1/8 on 27 psi multiple times in shitty 95* day conditions. Problem is I don't think they will make much more boost. I am going to log back pressure next time out and see how bad it is but I added a fair bit of co2 on top of the gate and didn't really see any more boost.

 

What's your car weigh and how was converter slip?? Your engine should make some steam on 27lbs..

 

To the Garrett 88 guys, I think the 88 SXE was just released this week so how are these comparisons being made?

 

The one I was referring to is on a car sponsored by BW. I am the engine tuner.
