Wondering what it would take to run 9.55-9.6 in a 3400 (3373) pound car. Various online calculators say around 754 hp. Could it be done with less with a good working car, super stock type chassis, manual transmission? Thanks

I would say 750 would put you in the ballpark, is that the weight with the driver. if not 750hp might be a little slower then what you are looking for.
so with 700hp at the wheels. that would make it 800-825 at the crank and you went 9.69. that don't add up, maybe it was high altitude. but that should be faster than that.
Not high altitude at all. I live in Illinois. That was in 2009 and now that I am thinking about it. I made 700 to the wheels but I did back the timing off a bit for the track so it was making a small amount less then that when I was actually at the track. I was still learning the blower set up. But then my sixties were also horrible. That was with 10lbs boost and on 92 octane. I have obviously learned a lot since '09.
Wallace Racing Calculator says:
Your HP is 771.54 computed from your vehicle weight of 3400 pounds and ET of 9.55 seconds.
This is just a guesstimate, has a lot to do with air.
1.40 60ft 3400lb car with a th400 and 600hp Crank will go 10.0's at 131mph in good air on the east coast.
Alot depends on the chassis/convertor/gear set up
Best pass to date 9.681 at 137+ mph. Atco raceway, late November air. Race weight was 3300. Motor makes 620 hp at the crank. Manual trans G-Force G101.
mine chassis dynoed at 627hp and would do 9.7@138 3380lbs
