They are legal and pass tech. Lots being used now. I'm switching to one next year.

 

after looking the "blacklisted customers" on their site, I have a hunch this place is pretty shitty at delivery and customer service. A couple of extremely reputable peeps on that list shows me the owner is likely the problem.

 

IMO I will just say that a switch in which the contacts are mechanically/physically opened is the safest and most reliable.

If that is used after the mechanical switch as a down line secondary kill it would be OK.

So what do you guys use for a switch out back? I suppose any switch can be used in the drver's reach. But I want something obvious and familiar for the safety crew.

I may have worded my question poorly. Button.....switch for the back of the car that safety crew recognizes and will know how to turn off in the event of something bad. What button are you using that looks like what they are used to?

 

The red button on the Honeywell switch is 1.78" in diameter and clearly visible, along a "Push Off" decal of your liking.

 

Of note, I use the Honeywell switch as an emergency stop switch mounted to my center console, and use a conventional mechanical disconnect out back (Moroso 74102 disconnect with Moroso 74105 push/pull kit).

I use both also.
I use the emergency toggle switch mounted to my delay box and the old school push-pull in back.

Out back just use a store kit and build a push bar so all they have to do is kick it off.
As said, use the stickers that come with the kit or make it very well marked so they find it immediately!!

My VERY old no box car just uses the standard kit and it turns on & off.
My faster cars all have the standard heavy duty switch mounted inside with a push bar fabricated.

My bud ordered a complete wiring setup for his car,and it took 8-9 months.Granted,it`s custom,but come on.

I ordered a complete setup,as I WAS in no hurry,and knew it was gonna take some time,but here almost 10 months later,and nothing.Called and left a voicemail lat week,no call back.Called on Saturday,voicemail box full.He did text me back saying he would call me;nope,nothing.Now I need this stuff,and nothing.

Brian knows his stuff,and I was gonna order the above mentioned battery disconnect kit when it goes on sale,but I don`t think that is gonna happen.

Maybe I`ll just ask him to refund my card,and take my business somewhere else.We will see.
