So we found a crack between a top head bolt hole and water passage, other than that the late model has been great, I have a 66 289 block and another 5.0 block . which to use for 425hp bracket and why....I already use hydraulic short travel link bar lifters. This in an NA on e85 3 inch stroke 10.2 to 1 deal. I know about SHP blocks, I know about a Windsor, etc..... and I am willing to hear opinions and experiences thanks need help

Pick one.

The only things I dislike about the 289 block is the slightly shorter cylinders (not a huge deal) and 2 piece seal. I hear that quality 2 piece seals are getting harder to come by.
Thanks for the reply and the info, I measured cylinder length, .070" difference on these 2 blocks, i thought i would have it converted to 1 piece rear main, depending on cost
