Anybody here using racestar double beadlocks or their wheels in general and your opinions. I was close to pulling the trigger on a set of weld Deltas, then I saw a brand new RJ mustang for Cuadra and on the rear are race star wheels! $4200/ wheel vs $1700. I know you get what you pay for but in pro stock where everything counts, those wheels aren't on there if theres anything compromised.

Also, RC Components make a similiar beadlock but is $3k. I think I like this wheel style the best but just keep going back to the race star bang/ buck. These are all comparable 1 piece forged double beadlocks. Any opinions....

Just all depends on how you feel about China wheels on your race car
Seeing some fast cars like Pro Stock and a few Pro Mods running Race star wheel. A few NPK cars like Kye Kelly also running them. The only thing that turns me off about them is they are 100% forged and machined in China to Race stars specs, that came directly from them when I spoke with them. The Missouri facility is just a distribution warehouse.

These 3 wheels are 1 piece design unlike other beadlocks. I have a set of converted 16" Bogarts on the car right now and my Vette has weld 15" doubles. These manufacturers I listed are the only ones making the 1 piece right now, I believe they are fusion welded. Lighter and there was a thread on here stating there are other advantages to this design. I do believe it will help with tire shake issues as its not for the car in my signature but a comp elim car, 205+ mph.

And its not counting pennies, hard to justify spending almost 3x the amount when the cheaper wheel is being used in max effort classes by the best. Greg Anderson is also using Race Stars last year and as for Elite, I do believe Cuadra is elite and I know RJ works with them so.... As for not buying chinese products, GOOD LUCK with that, even at the grocery store! I shopped some years back for shoes made in the USA and ended up settling on assembled here, as the products made here were repulsively ugly. Dont know if that changed recently as if I only bought USA, none of us would be on our computers on here. Not ready to give in on the race car yet, will probably either look for a set of used Deltas with the right bolt pattern and backspace from a pro team switching to race stars (elite has a bunch for sale) or buy the RC wheels. Right now RC has on their site they are just taking orders now, not in production yet. Hard to justify $4200/ wheel. And yes I've wsted, err spent..., stupid $ on alot of shit for the race car. Getting older you have more $, but seem to get more frugal. Damn Sucks LMAO!!

Ordered the RC Component wheels. I just couldn't stomach putting chinese wheels on the car regardless who runs them. They said 10 weeks out. They will start filling orders and theres about 20 orders in front of me. The price will go up when production starts and thats why I'm doing this now. If they get held up on production I can race the double bogarts on the car now.

"3 lbs less than its predecessor and 60% less rotational mass" is the statement weld makes and all 3 are very similiar in design and construction. Without my hands on the race stars I would guess they can possibly be 1 lb lighter than the other 2 by bead flange.

And glad to hear its not being a cheap ass with the prices of these. I'm just desensitized after a week or 2 of knowing its an advantage and you have to buy 1 of the 3.....

As much as I agree with the China part of that statement, Cuadras are self sponsored and I dont believe they are trying to pinch a penny, or more appropriately there isnt a part on that car that knowingly leaves ANY performance advantage on the table.

If a part is made in China, but has a performance advantage, would you use it then? That iis the real question i'm asking

I figured out why they're on the car and its not cost but my question remains......

IF A PART IS MADE IN CHINA BUT HAS A SIGNIFICANT PERFORMANCE ADVANTAGE, WOULD YOU USE IT?????

Have already run a few sets of used Race Stars(just your typical stock axle width Fox body stuff) - would run those forged guys too, nice looking piece for the dollar. And I sure as shit won't be making as much power as a Musi 959 on 27 kits, nor trying to put it to big ass Top Fuel rubber, so I think I'd be fine.

...but that's just me...

There’s No Performance advantage to RaceStar wheels. They are a 2pc welded and machined. Rotational ounces of wheel weight is far overcame by inconsistency of rubber and track surface. The better choice is a bit heavier wheel with minimal deflection. This provides both safety and consistency while forcing the tire to maintain form at it’s best percentage.

Interesting first post.

Would you like to say more about yourself and /or company?

Not hating, but looking for insight in regards to your post. In your opinion, is a heavier two piece better than a single lighter wheel or do I have it backwards.
And aren't all wheels machined at some point.

Just trying to understand what you are trying to say.

Racestars are fusion welded i thought. And if you're concerned about a weld developing a crack, even the true 1 piece Delta wheels have the beadlock bead welded which I did not know. Not very many true 1 piece beadlock wheels out there.

My question here took a spin after reassessing tire selection. I need to use 15" slicks due to current sizing offered, so the deltas and RC wheels were eliminated. Weld Alpha which is a 3 piece wheel is as good as it gets besides the racestar.

Wheelworld, what is the reason the Cuadras and a few others run the racestars over the alphas on their P/S cars?

They’re fusion welded in China. That’s fine if you keep an eye on them just like all the rest. It is important to note where the wheel is welded. You can’t see it because of the machining. People tend to watch the bead ring and centers. The middle of the barrel is out of the ordinary and would be your new priority spot. They run them because I sold them to them. I would have sold them Welds if I had still been there instead. RC Components are the best made wheel on the market in my opinion. I didn’t work for them though.

I wasn’t aware of RC Wheels, so pleased to read this thread. Looking to get a pair of their Deuce beadlocks in 15” x 12”

I’ve struggled to find a good looking wheel in 15” x 12” with 5 on 5
