Anybody know the history of these valve bodies? Specifically the one with a shift solenoid on the side of the casting. Any reason why they never caught on?

Just bought a used one and would like to get some installation instructions.

It was made by Tranz-King in Texas. I think they're a member here. I had one for several years and it never let me down. I sold the trans last year but might have the instructions at home still.

Hughes Performance had their version for years, called the "Shift-Brake". I ran two of them in a couple of older cars that we had. Trans had to be in high gear before setting the brake. The valve body gaskets are a stand alone product for that valve body. Actually, both of those transmission are still running in cars up here. If you take the solenoid out and plug it the trans will work just like a Pro Brake.

I know this is a old thread but its about the closest to what I have a question about. I just bought a Powerglide with a trans brake and up shift electric solenoid valve body. Im trying to find out who makes it and get some detailed info on how to wire it and use it. The Brake part works good the solenoid is unused. I know most people use the electric shifts on the sifters now . I talked to Gilbert at trans king he said it wasn't one of his . The trans had hipster decals on it but cant find any info about them and this valve body. adding some images of my solenoid cant see the ones already posted in this thread photbucket is blocking them.
