There is absolutely nothing wrong with the solenoids he has now. They are a .116 orifice, side exit solenoid. The only difference, is the 16040, the original "Pro Shot" was a Skinner or Parker solenoid. When they released the 16045 "Super Pro Shot" and the 16048R "Pro Race" solenoids, also .116 orifice, they were made by Peter/Paul, so service parts were not the same. Now, what most people don't know, is that the 16000, "Cheater" was also a Skinner solenoid and has the same diameter plunger as other Skinner solenoids..............sooooo, if you order a Teflon plunger for your 16000 solenoid, it will fit your old style 16040 "Pro Shot". Solenoids don't wear out. If you don't damage the seat, a new coil and new plunger and your old stuff is as good as a brand new one.

Monte,
You might want to take another look at your tech book on that one ??? The part number 16040 Pro Shot nitrous solenoid is a side exit, but does NOT have a .116 orifice. It was sold as an advertised .110.

Also, the 16045 Super Pro Shot solenoid which is also a side exit, only has a .110 orifice. The 16045 Pro Race solenoid is the only only NOS offered over the years with a .116 orifice.

Also, on the third note, by the time you buy a new plunger and a new coil, our complete new solenoids are even less expensive. That's usually a pretty good reason why guys buy our solenoids as a replacement as well.. Thanks, SJ

does the pro race noids come with teflon plungers? I ran them for 3 years straight over 300 passes and never needed to rebuild them. and progressive each pass

Ok, the original 16040 Pro Shot and the 16045 Super Pro Shot, in the past, did NOT come with teflon plungers. The 16048R, bottom exit, Pro Race, has ALWAYS come with teflon plungers...............Now, on to todays solenoids. The "NEW" 16045 and 16048 solenoids, with the new candy color shells, ALL come with teflon plungers, as well as the new Powershot solenoids. The new solenoids have been out for over a year and it is not really teflon, but a new combination material, we call K-fel. Has better sealing characteristics than teflon, but the same durability, or better

I-S was cheaper than all the other places i checked to replace my nos and fuel solenoids.
Thanks guys !!! Here's a reminder too.. I'll keep blowing them out as long as I can...

Just a remeinder there's still quite a few of these side in/out solenoids still available at $75.00.
