So my neighbor's house, his 3 dogs and his yard are infested with fleas...I give my dogs frontline but I can see the fleas in the yard that he and I sort of share...I confronted this guy with the issue and he's well aware of it and it doesn't bother him, he made a joke out of it telling me "fleas don't eat that much" and that he doesn't use flea chit because it's toxic, another neighbor said he went into his house one time and fleas were jumping all over him (I started to sweat just hearing it, what the hell??? :smt103)....so I shaved my lawn down to nothing and took out the whole arsenal of bug chit out of my garage and doused everything I could outside plus bombed the inside of my house just in case...today I want to go and get more outdoor yard spray or powder or whatever, anyone have any suggestions other than killing it with fire?

You're gonna have to get a pest control company out to spray....see it's not the fleas that are jumping that you want to worry about.....they will die off....it's the millions upon millions of eggs that they will leave behind .....it has to be treated several times ...but until your nasty ass neighbor does something about his problem you may be stuck.....call your local humane shelter and tell them how much danger your pets are in and they can put you on the right people...he can be made to clean up his shit or get rid of the fucking dogs ....it's called animal cruelty

It might be worse then just fleas..he also said his dogs bring back ticks from the dog park (which backs up to a nature preserve) and he just plucks them off...sickening! another reason why I stay away from the dog park..but seriously I don't even care if whatever I spray kills the lawn...

Keep using the Frontline, spray inside the house with Knockout ES, from your Vet. Knockout usually works better than bombing. Its a direct spray that can be used for all flooring and bedding, it last for 7 months and reactivates everytime you vacuum. These two things will keep the fleas off your pet and out of your home. I treat my house every spring just in case, Knockout is only $20 and covers 2100sq feet. If you have been seeing fleas on your animal, then its probably a good idea to treat them for tapeworms as well.

At one time I treated my indoors with lime powder. It was said to kill fleas or there eggs. It was a long time ago never had the problem again. He can't say it's toxic. I googled it and there is info there

Fleas lay eggs in your carpet, for severe infestations we recommend retreating in two to three weeks when eggs hatch. These two things will keep the fleas off your pet and out of your home. i had this problem at the last house i lived in (his backyard backed up to my front yard). i treated my lawn and dog. then i would put my dog inside and "treat" his yard also with one of the garden hose type sprayers. after a few "treatments" the situation improoved. then he stopped cutting his grass. so i switched to roundup.

I use diatamatous earth (DE) , the pool filtration stuff . It seems to take care of everything. At the house and at the farm I just put it in a burlap bag and drag it around the yard dusting and it works. At the farm we have fleas and everything else because of the cows and animals. I treated the 2 1/2 acres around the house and barn and walla nothing anymore. No scorpions , fleas and bugs in general. Yea there's a few but not many. Now go out in the pastures and it's another story.

The problem with Frontline and medicines of the sort, is they are known or SAID to cause problems in dogs and are not recommended, vets recommend them, but if you really read up on them, there are risks involved, so having to keep your dogs on it because of this ass hole, is not only causing a problem for your home and your yard, but for your dogs too....... Spray the yard, keep your dogs as far from his yard as possible.

In twenty years I've NEVER put Frontline or anything on my dogs...... I did have to last year, just one dose because my Beagle escaped and brought back fleas from someone else's yard..... I seriously suggest going online and getting the HOME REMEADY for anti fleas and ticks...... It's much safer for your pets and it seems that you will need to use this often since dick head is a slob......

I have a 3 month old baby boy, and we havn't been able to sleep at our house in almost a month because of the flea problem we've acquired. There are tons of stray cats in my neighborhood, and they keep multiplying, cause these bastards keep feedin the sonsabitches, and won't get em fixed. We have two cats, one inside only, the other inside/out. Well, the inside/outside cat brought fleas into our house, so we booked ass. Any ideas on how to get rid of the fleas in the house and yard w/out hurtin the baby?

Luckily I've never had this problem but Borax is said to be safe.

Also, my sister is a groomer............. VINEGAR and DAWN soap will KILL the fleas on contact. Use equal amounts of both on your animals. That is a temp fix on killing them on your pets immediately. When Carly brought them home, that's what my sister suggested, and that's what they use when a put comes in with fleas........ I used it and it was amazing to see how quickly they die.

If you are using Frontline or a veterinary approved flea medication and STILL seeing fleas...then you have fleas in your house or the animals environment even if you can't see them. The fleas that your are seeing only represent 5% of the entire flea population. Knockout is the safest product that we recommend and always remove everyone from the house for atleast an hour.

The good news is, my dogs don't come into contact with his dogs, or share the same yard area, although, given his yard infestation, I'm not sure it makes all that much difference....all good information from everyone , so thanks for that! I'm going to get some of the stuff suggested today...I like the round-up idea!;)

and honestly, I have been giving my animals frontline for years and have been very happy with it...but then again, we just moved here next to this nutcase and have never had this problem before now...

I also threw away all my pet bedding, the outside rugs and washed EVERYTHING in the house before and after I bombed and vacuumed the crap out of everything..I have not seen any fleas in my house, (yet) I just did it as a precaution..I'm trying to cut the head off the monster before it attacks...now I need to attack the yard(s) with or without his permission..
