Lexan carb scoop

I know this probably has been asked several times on this site so here it goes again.
I want to hear some input from nitrous users to help me out. I want to know what gains if any have anyone seen from adding a lexan scoop to their carb. This info is needed for 1/8 mile. First off there is no clearance issues now because we have a 4" cowl hood back to the windshield and have about 4-5" of clearance between the hood and the carb. I just want to know if the scoop will be worth cutting a hole in the hood to see any gains. If not I would just soon leave it alone. Also if it would help is there any certain dimensions needed. Whats your inputs. Thanks.

Brief desciption

As far as et goes, not sure. But as far as tune-ups go....a lot! So much easier to tune. Hood was too close on mine, but I think the forced air helped it beyond just getting the hood off the carb. I had 100% intentions of making it, but my girlfriend asked me to go to a wedding she is in. I drag her all over the country racing, demo derby's, MY kids stuff, etc....u get the point. She never complains and even encourages most all of it. So won't be making it. Was hoping to try a new rear gear and see if it would pick mine up any. I do have a friend coming down with his though....

Hey guys thanks for the posts about our scoops. We have been fabricating and selling a lot of these lately. We appreciate some of you guys posting about our scoops. Anyone looking to have one made can contact me on here via PM, call at 813-447-7026, visit our Facebook or website in my signature.

We build custom scoops and also have a standard size we keep in stock. We can do them in clear, smoked or painted colors. We also do custom Lexan airpans as well for those wanting to keep thier cowl hood and find some more power. We have seen gains of 2-3 MPH in NA combos and 1-1.5 MPH in NOS combos. As with any type of combo there are many variables that determine how much each engine will pick up.

Here is a few examples of our work!

Guys we just set up our YouTube channel recently and have started uploading a couple test videos. We will be posting on how to mount your lexan scoop soon for those who want to know the easiest way to mount them and cut the wholes in the hood. :):)

Sorry for the low quality and short videos but we will be upgrading our camera soon and making longer videos
