So whats up with people playing dirty to win races? I noticed guys burning down their competitors at the tree at SGMP, double bulbing etc. Don't you want to win fair? I know alot of guys that race on a budget, including myself, and when I see a car burn down guys on the tree as long as they possibly can, I think "If that were my $7k trans and converter hitting 400deg, I would be PISSED!"
I guess my point is that we are all in this together, promoting small tire heads-up racing, and getting the word out there so people realize the blood, sweat and tears we put into these cars, only to race them for fractions of what they cost, and then we have competitors deliberately hurting each other. It's no different than sabotage in the pits! I don't mean to call names but I watched it happen in round 2 and 3 at SGMP last weekend, and I just want to know why you would want to win that way?
If you take offense then you are guilty... You know who you are!

burning someone down is a mental part of drag racing that has been a factor as long as i can remember!!! i dont see anything wrong with it just ask "TRICKY" Ricky SMith and many many others...... nothing wrong with a burndown in my eyes

Burndowns are one thing....that just means there are two guys that are too damn stubborn to go in. Double bulbing is another story...I hate that shit that's just low down dirty ass racing.

I only saw 1 double bulb incident and as far as burn downs there is no rule who goes in first and autostart was on.

Autostart was set at 7 seconds and only got 1 racer and that was a junior dragster.

There was only one example of poor sportsmanship displayed and he got his karma when he hurt his engine 2 rounds later.

I witnessed almost every pass for four days and I can assure you from an operational side of things it was a fair race, period.

with the prestages lit on both sides there is usually no time limit.
someone double bulbs, no time limit.
Once one car is prestaged and the other car is staged, time limit is normally between 7-10 seconds when autostart is on. That was done to prevent the burndowns.

If you don't want to play the game when you and the opponent are prestaged, then go in! Double bulbing is bs, and I'll wait to see if the other guy/gal mistakenly went in and lit both. If not, I don't rush my game and make sure I get staged in a timely fashion.

I may be wrong but I didn't se him get burned down...He was doing exactly as I described. He was part of a staging duel at which point he was not on his converter but, with the technique he was using to stage he couldn't get "burned down".

Most turbo cars wait for the other car to pre-stage then the start to spool up. If you're a turbo car you should do the same. As mentioned before autostart is your friend in this scenario you wait for them to pre-stage then you take whatever time you need to get spooled up and you pre-stage. Then move right in to stage and he has 7 secs.

Done. If you do it any other way (and you race a turbo car) you're asking for too much.

Burndown is when both cars are pre-staged and neither car goes in to stage....they just sit there and let each other heat up. Double bulbing is when someone rolls in and puts the pre stage and stage light on at the same time when the other car hasn't even turned the pre stage light on.

Depends on how long it takes your combo to get spooled up (turbo car). Your teacher taught you well for N/A or a Nitrous combo, but it is quite a bit different for a turbo car.
