Which American automobile company / brand that went out of business do you wish were still making cars / trucks.

Poll includes the better known, obvious brands, way too many dead brands to list them all. If a brand you think deserves consideration example: “Pierce Arrow” isn’t listed in the poll, throw it in the comments.

You can vote for up to three.

Too many to list but Packard has my vote as a legitimate contender in this poll. They were a phenomenal engineering company.

On the other hand my heart goes with Pierce Arrow and Cunningham & Sons from Rochester. Those of course because they were two prestigious carmakers in Western New York.
Good call Hank. I added Packard to the poll.

I like rebuilding their super 8`s. They had roller cams in them, fins on the cap side of the connecting rod which was for slicing threw the oil, they had their own thread pitch on bolts and studs. Very unique engine.

The Scouts were pretty cool.
I don't know about that now. A friend of mine had a Scout back in the day. He couldn't wait to get rid of it. It might have been good in the snow, but that was the only thing. It rattled, shook, was noisy, and you couldn't hardly run the speed limit with it. You couldn't go to a regular auto parts store and get anything for it, you had to go to the International-Harvester dealer to get them, even a set of wiper blades, and they weren't cheap either. I can still hear him fussing about that thing. Thanks for bringing up some funny memories !
