Saw on the news another carjacking in Riverside then 100 mile high speed reckless car chase in Lakewood, Long Beach, Wilmington and Harbor City where assailant started shooting at Police and Highway Patrol from drivers seat. Suspect was shot and hogtied by LEOS on the scene after crashing vehicle into pole.

When I lived in LA I would see these chases on a weekly basis with Kcal 9 chopper following the chase, it was so stupid it was actually entertaining provided no one got hurt……I think we become de sensitized to it, however these chases are more and more violent with little regard for human life, innocent folks getting killed or injured by some Jack ass.

I think laws need to be re written thes retards do hundreds of thousands of dollars damage to cars property and infrastructure 2 police officers I know in Pomona say the speeds are much higher more desperate and reckless and these losers are always armed. If I were giving chase with adrenaline pumping these fu__ers I would not hesitate to use the baton while my fellow officers aim the taser to the perps testicles and keep shocking their nuts till the evening news came on.

oh wait what was I thinking with Newsome in charge of the liberal nirvana, a wrist slap and some temporary contrition ready for the next hi speed chase at taxpayers expense!!!
What say you?
In the apprehension of the suspect you can clearly see some gang attire/affiliation Riverside style if I am profiling…..too fn bad!

I was flipping thru YouTube the night this happened (smart tv and a firestick, all I watch is YouTube) and clicked on the livestream just as the guy hit the pole and started to run. There was another guy that was detained then released back to his truck outside the caution tape, anyone know what that was about?

I'm sure there's an attorney or two on here, both conservative & liberal. I'd sure like to hear their take. I'm also sure there's other LEOs , retired, Reserve & active on here too. I'd love to hear their take, viewers here keeping in mid the region & agencies the responders are from.
Having been in Phoenix, Az. before & after we more or less eliminated our pursuit policy I have to say I'm not a fan of non-pursuits & IMO it should be the LEOs decision when & why to pursue. HOWEVER I also think there needs to be A LOT more training in pursuing & perhaps in some areas teaching to integrate air support more or perhaps even adding air support to smaller agencies. PDs also need to review how they write pursuit reports & work with the local DAs office to seek stronger prosecutions and add the cost of the pursuit to the defendants punishment

Crazy times out here in LA, these high-speed chases are getting more dangerous by the day. It’s not just lives at risk, but the damage to innocent people’s cars is a real issue, too. I have seen cars totaled from these incidents, and even for those not involved, it’s making car owners here double down on protection and maintenance. That’s partly why mobile car detailing in Los Angeles is booming. Keeping your vehicle looking clean and cared for helps preserve value when chaos is all around.

I remember those KCAL 9 chopper feeds too sometimes multiple chases a week. At one point, it became almost surreal how common it was. But you’re absolutely right: they’ve gotten way more violent, and the stakes seem higher every time. That said, I think the solution has to walk a fine line. Yes, these folks should absolutely be held accountable with serious consequences. But blanket brutality or excessive force doesn't fix the problem it risks making it worse, legally and morally. The tools need to be smarter better tech, better coordination, maybe more drone-assisted surveillance to reduce risk to officers and civilians. And definitely harsher penalties for anyone who escalates a chase into gunfire or causes injuries.
