I have 275/60's mounted on a 10" wheel

 

10" is the preferred width, gives you the widest footprint.

 

I posted this question in M/T section and answer was 10" is best for 3754R tire. Hope this helps.

 

Definitely not too wide. I was using MT 255/60-15 on 10" wheels, so 275s are fine. Some are even using 12" wheels with bead locks for 275s.

 

What's the benefit of a 12" then. A bunch of people run them.

 

i have researched this many times as well, i will be running the 275-60-15 M/T and it always comes up that 10" is the best!

 

i think the 12 inch wheel pulls the sidewall the wrong way on a 275. i've run them on 8's and 10's and the car always worked better on the 10 inch wide wheel. the 10 inch wheel seems to make the sidewall straighter in relation to the edge of the tread and the sidewall seems to compress less on the launch

 

i ran 10's and have them on 12's now with no issue. 10's are the norm

 

Did it 60ft quicker?

 

I run Nittos on 9.5 rims because that is all that fits. but I could use another inch if I could get it in the wheel well.

 

I run the Pro with/a 10" wheel 1.12 60ft, SS Leafspring car using Permatex Hi-Tac. I will be getting beadlocks this year.

 

I always liked the hi-tac trick. Is there a threshold 60ft. where people are switching to bead locks?

 

I ran my 275/60-15's M/T's on 10 in. wheels. They looked "right" on a 10in. wheel.

My junk was slow compared to everyone elses stuff here but my drag radials hooked and worked better at 17-20psi. than they did down at 12-15psi. Small little burn out to clean the tires, not heat them up, shit and get.

 

275 MT Pro's on a 10 inch Champion bead lock here. Works and looks great!

 

Like everyone said. 275's work great on a 10" wheel.

 

When I ran a 275/60 on my S-10, I used a 10" wheel.

 

275 Pro's on 10's on my Streetcar. Leaves on 12# boost 20# by 20' which is around 1100 to 1400 by 60' in car that weighs nearly 3800# 8.43:1 starting line ratio which is retarded for that power. No hi-tac, no bead locks slips the tires on the rims 4" average every pass. I'm going to try more boost, less SLR by leaving in 2nd and beadlocks to knock the 60' down into the low 1.20' from the current 1.28.
