I’m sorry DBT I guess I’m not up to your level because I couldn’t follow your line of thinking whatsoever. Many accuse me of so called “word salads” but I think you have me beat.

Listen brother I know about all there is to know about atheism and I even know what an “anti-theist” is. We had one in this very thread a year or so ago.

My thoughts on Christopher Hitchens are very simply this. He was very good at poking holes in the faith traditions of various people (but mostly Christians of course) and also because we can’t see our “sky daddy” he was excellent at pointing out the ways God isn’t true. At least at low levels of investigation.

But I take you as someone who is confident in his intellectual prowess. You were even mentioned in scripture and called Thomas. (doubting Thomas).

This is fine. Many minds work this way. Mine does as well which often as much of a liability for me as it is an asset.

But the crux of the matter is, to quote a Ted Lasso line, “why aren’t you more curious?”

It seems like every day there are new discoveries and ancient secrets uncovered in which you can stick your fingers into.

For example you atheistic types love to poke fun at the Christian Bible but almost daily some artifact which supports the veracity of the Bible is uncovered. Why don’t you keep an open mind and look into those types of things. I don’t care what you found 10 years ago. As a result of the information super highway there is almost too much new and intriguing information to be studied.

I guess I could go on and on but I’d probably be wasting my time. As I have said both in threads like this or a fun thread like the Cleveland thread I am hopeful that someone on the sidelines just reading the back and forth gets something out of it.

I’m not trying to detransition you or convert you DBT. I just like the mental exercise.

Would I love you to come aboard and have you enjoy the contentment of having a relationship with God? Heck yes! But I can’t want it for you. You have to want it yourself.

BTW even the most primitive cave man or animal or tiny insect is connected somehow in this grand web of energy.

Now I don’t know the mechanics of how it all works exactly but it’s sitting right there in front of you. I am personally moved and amazed that physicists and mathematicians are coming to the conclusion there is more “behind the curtain”.
You speak on this subject with the same flagrant absurdity with which you speak about Ford. You make endless asinine claims which are entirely baseless and many/most of them you KNOW to be false, but you spew them anyway. Absolutely NO historical artifacts of any kind confirm any of the divine claims made by christianity or any other religion. Not one. All you have - again, ALL YOU HAVE - are the writings of people who lived more than 2,000 years ago. Whether or not any of the people mentioned anywhere in the bible even existed is up for debate, and there remains ZERO tangible evidence to support any of the claims, stories, or anything else contained within it.

The logical mind DEMANDS that any story told entirely on faith must be questioned. Upon questioning it, the logical mind simply cannot come to the conclusion that there is any basis in reality for believing any of the claims made by christianity. It is very obviously fabricated garbage meant to control people and enslave minds, nothing more. The only reason you have not come to that conclusion is because you have never questioned it. The fantasy of it cannot help but start to unravel the moment you start questioning it.

If you'll notice Henry and other religious people will never answer a question on the subject directly... because they can't.

It's always, every time some kind of diversionary word salad passive aggressive talk down to you because you won't agree to the bullshit.

It is truly amazing what the human mind can justify to itself based on zero hard evidence because of peer pressure and being afraid to die.

FFB you call me a “religious person” and that is a gross mischaracterization unfortunately. I am a lowly sinner simply taking the steps on my life’s journey. I am not above you nor below you just beside you on our way.

Now I don’t know which answer I haven’t given you and maybe I’m not clever enough to know the answer.

I can only assume that you, as always, default to the problem of evil. First thing is why is it called the “problem of evil?” Why is it a problem in the first place?

The question you always ask is ONLY ever asked of Christians. In my entire life I have NEVER heard anyone ask a native American or a Buddhist or Hindu about the problem of evil.

I thought I answered you with some scriptures to help and with the idea that God has created us with free will. Now there is tons of material to cover in between but in the end if God intervened at every moment we would really be nothing more than robots. Is that a good way to put it?

If you are really not in control of what you do and God became a grand puppeteer you and I would be reduced to simple marionettes on strings.

We are told that God created us in His image meaning He gave us sovereignty over our lives. Violence, disease and injustices are part of the deal unfortunately. Partially due to human falleness and partially due to the fact that we exist in a realm that is subject to the magnificent splendor of creation or the occasional terrible dysfunction of both biological realities and the potential for disaster in the physical nature of the material universe.

So that’s my answer. Are you man enough to know that part of the deal of being a true sovereign individual comes with the triumph and tragedies that you and I are both very familiar with?

”logical mind demands”. That’s part of your problem.

Stop demanding “proof” and start opening your blind eyes.

Stop demanding proof, he says… wow.

And there you have it, folks - a completely captured mind. With just three simple words, you’ve made it absolutely clear that there is no hope left for you.

Why would anyone find any comfort whatsoever in blatantly obvious fallacies? I sure don’t. It’s no different than when someone apologizes to you but obviously doesn’t mean it. It means nothing when you know it’s not true.

It’s isn’t comfort that I’m getting from the vistas in the video I shared. It’s more like breathtaking amazement.

I'll say it again, peer pressure is one of the most dangerous things on earth.

Being afraid to speak up on things that are clearly and easily questionable is crazy.

Mass psychosis.

It’s not for anybody, Hairy. She didn’t “meet jesus”, she had a hallucination. People believe they see and hear shit all the time that isn’t real. Especially while using drugs.

Here’s one for you to contemplate DBT before I turn in. When I mentioned that hardcore scientists are standing back from their test tubes and microscopes and scratching their heads going, “there must be more to this than meets the eye” this is an example of what I was talking about.

You will poo poo this I’m sure but deep down in heart of hearts I know that you know there’s something more. Something enormous lies just beyond the veil.

—————————————————————
At the quantum level, reality gets weird—like really weird. What we think of as “solid” objects aren’t solid at all but buzzing waves of energy, constantly shifting and flickering like a cosmic light show. Your chair, your phone, even your body—it’s all dancing patterns of energy.

Science shows us that matter, when zoomed in close enough, is less about particles and more about vibrations in an endless field. It means the universe isn’t built on stillness but on motion, connection, and possibility.

So here’s a mind-bender: if everything is energy, what does that say about us? Are we living matter, or living waves? 🌌 #fblifestyle

The lack of understanding of matter at the quantum level exhibited by the person who created that cute little image, and thus your obvious lack of understanding by extension, has no bearing on the debate about whether or not god exists. Trying to extrapolate explanations for fairy tales based on science is simply asinine.

Why of course you would say that. You better barricade the doors better because the truth one day will flood in on you brother. Bank on it.

I read somewhere the FBI did a research test where they took five FBI agents and put them in a room.

They pulled a random person off the street and told them the other five people in the room where also random people from the street(the FBI people).

They put up the color red and asked everyone what color it was, the five FBI agents said it was blue.

The random person off the street fearing they won't fit in or fearing retribution also said it was blue flat out knowing it was red.

This is religion in a nutshell.

Well I read something somewhere too. It was a neurosurgeon who claimed he was a lifelong atheist right up until he came to the conclusion that consciousness is separate and apart from the human body.

That’s not to say the brain for example isn’t necessary (but you’d swear it wasn’t necessary on this board) but rather the brain synthesizes thought and free will into this existence here in our world.

In other words our bodies are more of a jailhouse than they are means to total awareness.

Also FFB if you think I’m just a blob of protoplasm then why argue with me? You KNOW it’s more than that.

If you’re right FFB and DBT then just screw whoever you want and steal everything you can get your hands on because in the grand scheme of things it doesn’t really matter right?

My roosters bang whichever hen they can mount at a moment’s notice. There is no jealousy from the other roosters just fights for breading supremacy I guess.

How and why did we alone, evolve to have a value system? It’s almost like it was planned out that way, you know what I mean?

In fact why are so many people that are being revived from formerly certain death situations coming back with these grandiose stories about the afterlife and then their lives are inextricably changed forever from that experience?

That’s some crazy evolution stuff, and to think this is all just random. Amazing! 🤯🥴
