if there isn't some fucktarded rule book demanding this, don't be a dumbass and put a carb on it, sttock ecu with a speed density and 2 or 3 bar map upgrade would be light years better and cheaper

A distributor in a LS is diffantly backing up. Ask my how I know, I've ran it with a 7531. I have also helped guys running a 6014 MSD. If your set on carb the 6014 box and truck coils will give you the best bang for the buck!

If you'd consider EFI. I haven't tuned anything with a stock ECU but have looked at it and it seems to be a pita. If your a set it and forget guy. The stock ecu tuned by a competent person is hard to beat. I have for gone my 7531 and now run a Holley Dominator ECU with smart coils. Light years ahead of the 7531 as far as data, I/O (and $), but still run a blow thru and love it. :) If and when I decide to go EFI I'm halfway there. Also look at the Terminator lineup in Holley if going EFI.

Op you could go microsquirt and run both injection and timing at the same time is your going EFI. It can also just control timing using the gm stock sensors. It also uses you stock crank trigger to fire the coils. It is a wasted spark, batch fire system but will get the job done using all the stock stuff for EFI the best part it cost $360 to $400 for a standalone computer to run the whole thing.

I was originally blow thru on my first SBE 5.3, then I went BS3 on my built 5.3 and now I'm back blow thru. Blow thru and EFI are both great systems they have their pros and cons but there is nothing wrong with blow thru. My first setup went 5.40's on pump gas with my 98mm, I then went EFI E85 with the 98 on the new 5.3, now I'm twin 70's on the 5.3 with a blow thru again. I ran an msd 6010 on the first setup, I'm now on the 6014 box. The box does max out at 21 psi as it only have a 2 bar. I will be converting to the Haltech ignition box over the winter. Kevin at CSU has great blow thru carbs.

I have 2 cars currently on csu blow thru carbs. They are both bbc.I have experience running a blow thru carb but zero experience with a ls engine. My carbs are both e85 dual needle and seat carbs.I will be running the ls engine on e85 as well.I have been wanting to try a ls engine for years and going to do it over winter is the reason for the ls questions..Appreciate you repsonse

If you guys are determined to run a blow thru setup the only way I would do it is using the Haltech Elite VMS / VMST system. You get everything the top of the line Elite 2500 ECU offers with exception of the injector drivers. It is capable of running the entire car, has 3-Level engine safety measures, datalogging(20ch w- VMS, 40ch w-VMST) MSD or smart coils, boost control, etc. All for a fraction of the price of the Elite 2500/2500T. PM or email in my signature if you're interested in pricing.

If you're willing to spend the time dialing in the circuits on a blow thru it's literally like efi. I love being blow thru. I think a lot of people just get frustrated because they have to work at it at first. Same with building a motor, not many people build their own motors anymore. The Haltech unit is worth the money for sure. I'm excited to convert to their box over the winter.
