Not only that in my “Ford special EV project” thread I am showing that to illustrate that these problems are being addressed.

Well lo and behold it was military technology that saved the day on that type of tragedy.

Yes it was I believe the Viet Nam war (or possibly Korea) where the “fuel cell” with foam insert was developed in an effort to get the Huey’s home if their fuel tanks were pierced with ground fire. Amazingly simple yet effective.

I pointed out the “flood ports” on the Ford Pikes Peak vehicles designed to quickly cool the battery cells internally in the event of a thermal runaway.

You guys seem to be skeptical about mankind’s ability to solve problems. I know I am too at times. I still can’t believe an 80,000 pound aircraft can float on compacted air molecules. Absolutely amazes me to this day.

What’s particularly staggering about these stats is the fact that basically EVERYONE has a kitchen in their home. That means some manner of stove, many of them using natural gas.. also there are gas or electric heaters in essential every home. Yet only a very small percentage of homes have E-bikes in them, and yet they’ve already taken over relative to all other fatal fires. I bet there’s a lot more smokers than E-bike owners as well, and yet still, E-bikes rule these stats. Let that sink in and you will start to understand just how dangerous they are. Then remember that electric car batteries are many times the size and stored energy capacity, so they cause even more devastating fires when they let their smoke out.

I’ve been saying for years when an electric car goes up in flames in the right high rise condo building it’s all over. The first 6-10 floors are parking garages one car igniting one on either side of it while charging on the 6th floor could trap a lot of people.

I was driving to a job on Wednesday at 7:30am and saw a heap of smoke not far from my house…..a teenager was vaping in bed, fell asleep, dropped the vape into the bedsheets where it malfunctioned and caught fire…..burned the whole house down…..
