Anybody ever deal with them? Buddy of mine is looking for a 383 long block, he has lots of good deals on Ebay, but he wants to make sure before pulling the trigger.

Thanks in advance, discuss.

skip white is one of those POS losers that pray on the stupid & ignorant!!!
Of course when you go after those customers that don't care about anything, including hurting their country & their children's future, but the cost, what do you expect to get!!!
Someone posted his distributor that was taken apart, it's was disgusting how poorly the thing was made!!!! Same as his so-called MSD copy!!!!

I bought a balanced 496 stroker kit a few years ago from Skip and was pleased w it. I dropped a valve in it 2 years ago and they got me a new piston & rings for it even though they said they don’t like to break up the set. Had the rod reconditioned by someone else and turned the crank .010”. Put it back together and it ran great! Learned my lesson about throwing on questionable heads. Now I’m spraying NOX on it and man is it FUN!!! I say Skip White’s alright

I'm scared to say anything, but I bought a complete engine from them with some of my specs in it, with AFR heads, a Dart block, Scat crank, H-beam rods, all ARP fasteners. Balance sheet looks really good, dyno runs all filmed. I think I got a really good deal, but I'll report back after I get some more time on it and see if it holds together.

Well since the price structure on American made heads is set up so that the reseller makes about jack shit on a set, what else would happen when they can amke 300 where they use to make 100.00....before merchant fees and freight.

American companies to this to themselves. Aside from which, Retail is whatever Summit says it is.

This industry will be killed by the racers.

Ordered a 434 SBC from them a few years ago, I ordered it with good parts in mind. I wanted a DART block, then they substituted it for a Pro Comp block. I wanted the Callies crank & rods, they substituted the rods for CAT brand units. I wanted an ATI dampener, they changed it to a Professional Products piece.
When they called back to confirm the order, they read off the parts list and told them no, stick to the original parts that I want. They said they could not do it....not even for extra money. Cancelled the order.

The when American made products are no longer available...it's the customers fault.

It's laughable.

It's laughable if you're stupid. Luckily, you qualify.

When I first started doing "affordable" 347 stroker kits, they were 2,400.00 for a cast crank kit, using a modified 351C crankshaft and Crower Sportsman rods. They are currently about half that. A 4340 crank kit was in the 4,000.00 realm, they are currently less than half that.

The hobby racer was relegated to modified stock parts because the price to play was far beyond the range of the average guy. Then came the Chinese parts.

That, leaving aside that you know absolutely nothing about basic economics, nor much else.

Business owners pray on human nature...yet stupidly believe they themselves are somehow immune.

Let that roll around your empty head for a while.

what you will notice here, is.... no one has actual "hands on" feedback,
its all 2nd hand, or "I heard", or my cousins, nephews, step brother told me,
everything is chinese now days,
I have no 1st hand knowledge of either of the skip white business's,
but how does a business STAY in business, if they are that bad?

I have bought heads, short blocks, and ati dampeners from Skip white, I have referred quite a few guys from my union,(local 19 Philadelphia) to there Nkb heads, I have had absolutely zero issues with any of the parts and I have been putting together Sbc stuff for 40 years! the NKB heads they sell are the exact same castings as AFR enforcers with decent parts and a decent valve job, I have toured there shop and they don't have junk so I think most of you are full of crap and you haven't dealt with them at all.
