I dont know much about anything paint-wise. I painted a front motor plate with black Dupont Centari. First off......can a single stage paint even be wetsanded and buffed? Its slightly orange peely, but not horrible. The part is small enough that I knd of would like it to look smooth like glass with a little more effort if possible.......and if it CAN be wetsanded, how much dry/cure time before I do wetsand? Thankyou all!!!

It's been a long time since I sprayed Centari but that's all I sprayed in the 80s........with the gloss hardener, it performed quite well. Let it dry as long as possible, because even with the hardener,.......it's not an actual "activator", meaning,.... Centari will air dry on it's own, and doesn't require a catalyst like urethanes. The "hardener" really just slows the drying time down, so the paint will flow out better. It's hard to say how long to wait, depending on the weather conditions, shop temp.,......but I'd wait at least a week.

Next time use a true 2K product. I'm not sure how the centari will hold up on gas/fluid spills.

Hopefully it will work fine.
