I wonder how long it will be until we see a Door Car in the 4's. Seems like a Turbo car would be able to do it.

 

Door car going 4.99 1/4mi wont be in our life time.
The record has been in the 5.40 range for more than a few years now. Turky Al Zafiri went 5.461 & Franky Taylor 5.476 in 2014. Took almost 10yrs to get to low 5.40s so 4's are a Long way off if ever possible

 

I'd like to see the time slip and how it compares to an alcohol funny car time incrementally

 

Introduce a true unlimited class and a door car could get there.

 

Kuhlemann said if there was nitro coupe today they'd easily be in the 4's.

Pretty sure Balooshi went 5.39 overseas with an unlimited turbo car

agreed! last year at MIR the toyota soarer with a boosted JZ went 5.80s at 243 in the 1/4 Very impressive to see a small displacement straight 6 spank out times faster than the old alchy funnys did out there Technology moves on. It's going to be top weather for some import vs domestic digs with REALLY cool nights. Track prep and DA at MIR is top notch so we should see some very good times

It's a crazy train for sure and you will see more variety than at any other race. The Puerto Rico top rollers will be there with crazy rotaries and JZs stuffed into little short wheel base stuff that are beyond over powered and out of control. Hope to see you there. T import record was just reset at 5.54 @ 263. Crazy!

 

Ehh. The DA there was -1300 at the start. It settled at +72. Every record should be broke. 😄
That said those imports are flying and sound like bullets going down the track.
