You want something that has a little room to move one way or another. I used button head bolts with lock nuts on the back, and just have them tightened just less than snug.
Rivets are an expanding/hole filling fastener. The radial stress on the lexan will cause cracking around each rivet and it will look like shit after a season.
But its quick and cheap. So it depends on your goals.
Buy the countersink tool and proper screws/nuts from Jerry Bickle race cars and do it right you'll be much happier , I used them and its easy and looks professional , my car was done with rivets before i got it and it looks like shit.
If you do ise screws, I highly suggest using K series rivnuts somthat it doesn't take a team of people to nut and bolt the windows in. Its nice to pull them when you want to get to certain areas or in some instances to clean them without the risk of permenant back injury crawling over tubes.
