Oil pan question - alum. vs steel

Ok, I'm having trouble making up my mind if I want to spend the extra money (about $150) on an aluminum pan or just stick with a steel pan. The weight savings is probably minimal and the alum. pan just looks awesome :-D. Steel is obviously stronger and cheaper. I'm looking at either the Moroso Eliminator 21047 steel pan or the Pro Eliminator 20385 alum. pan. I'm going to be using the Moroso billet pump so it has to be an 8" sump. Basically what I want to know is if there's any reason I SHOULDN'T get the aluminum pan? This is on my TT5 car, no wheelie bars and I don't think the pan can touch the track anymore if the car wheelies since I have some 'crash bars' now.

Thanks,
Craig

I went with the 20385 aluminum over the 21047 steel pan. My supplier tells me they see around 10HP more with the 20385 as it's wider on both sides helping windage. My setup being N/A, I felt it was worth the upgrade.

Also, I was pleasantly surprised how well built this pan is. I couldn't have thought it could be any better, not matter who it came from. Fabrication and welding are excellent.

If you are running a vacuum pump the Aluminum pan would be your better choice. Have heard of people with cheapo steel pans sucking the bottoms up into the oil pump pickup. Have not seen it myself, but my engine builder had one. The pickup to pan clearance was way too little. Someone had put a different pan on a motor he did and didn't know to, or didn't know how to check the clearance.
