Try some holleys, mine I can dial back the surge with the idle mixture screws, but I just leave it, the surge sounds badass to me and does not affect my cars performance.
the carbs are too small as well.
you can hear the surge here

Went to the dyno with a friend SBC-400, We found the holley blower carbs so rich we took out 7 sizes and picked up70 HP. Holley carbs 600 or 750 vac. opening or 950 hps WORK VERY GOOD, Just change sec. plate to JETS on vac. opening, ITS A SHAME SEEING GUYS SPEND BIG BUCKS ON CARBS WHEN STOCKERS ARE BETTER Oldhead

I had the same problem. my car is efi with a VERY similar cam, but same principals still apply. Don Hampton told me that if it is surging, it is too rich....period. he told me to take some fuel out of it and it would come to me. he was right. I was way too rich. the leaner it is, the better my car idles. but if it is too lean, it will stumble on tip in.

Mine will "roll" with to much fuel at idle.Lean out the mixture screws and she levels right out every time. You are a tad low on initial timing.Maybe bump up the initial 6 degrees while maintaining the same total. If the idle fuel is close...she will roll a bit during warm up until the blower case heat soaks and then it will settle down.

My cam is a Comp Cams 248/260 @ .050 114cl... I had it 20 years idles 800 very smooth used with 871 w/ two holley 3310s(Stock) and YSI Vortech. Always locked dist. set at 32......2-600 cfm good for street, to small for racing.....your cam is big for the street, but good for racing???????Oldhead
