Seems like a way low price

 

I was thinking more like 5-6k so it went high in my book but then I am behind on my prices of stuff.

 

I'm thinking that the $10K price is low but I don't know the details of the car. Up here in the Northeast rustbelt, shitty looking Fox Bodies are going for close to $10K.

Seems cheap. 10K might get you a rust free shell of a car these days.

 

Collectors don't want race cars unless it from the older days from a famous racer.

 

It is possible to get a good deal from these auctions I’ve come to find out. Just depends who’s in the room.

 

Considering the place is packed every day I don’t think that is true at all. That car is outdated and not unique special or rare. It’s totally about the car.

 

How much is the buyers fee?

 

No one at those auctions want to buy a drag car unless it was owned by someone of interest, or it was a famous nostalgic car.

If that was a stock 92 Mustang GT in really nice shape, it would have sold for more than that.

I'm friends with Nate on FB, he said he if had known it was for sale he would have bought it. He said he sold it 10 years ago to a collector.

 

Try to build a car that nice for $10k. That's a great deal.

 

I agree 100%. That's a hell of a deal. Probably the best deal of that entire auction.

 

In addition to Saleens and Cobras, nice SSPs get decent money and are trending upward. Most Foxes aren't investment cars, anyway, and that's one of the things that make them attractive to buyers on street and racers on the track...

 

we're almost there with my kids 86GT and the 460 block is still on the stand

 

That's going to be a blast. I just love a big block shoe horned into a pony car.

 

I love the Fox Bodies and have owned mine for 25 years next month.

 

I'm really enjoying the members here who actively take part in posting about their cars, or family cars/projects. Also the members who offer up helpful suggestions / advice.

Great community here. Other websites could learn a thing or two on how it's done.

 

Around here your chances of scoring an unmolested Fox body are about the same as finding a nice stock 78-81 Malibu.

I know many will laugh at me for this but the next car to become hard to find a clean unmolested example of is anything on the Panther chassis.

They are getting used up fast but they’re still out there for five grand or less.

They, as far as I know, are the last of the true American style body on frame V8 rear wheel drivers.

That’s the end of an era and they’re still out there. I’d like to add one to my fleet.

 

I could be totally wrong, but I believe the car had a stockish 460 with a 300 shot and a pre bent bar installed.

 

It’s not a special or high quality piece. By the time fees were paid and costs tallied, the owner probably rreceived 7k.

 

I wonder what Prichetts Mustang ran in the 1/4...

 

Probably faster with a stock engine without nitrous than ole waitresses cobra jet headed turd.
