How much HP can a stock 302 crank take?

I'm building a R block 302 8.2 deck motor with a 76mm turbo. In efforts to stay on the nice side of the compressor map of the small turbo, I'm keeping the stock 3" stroke.

With that said, what can a stock 302 crank take? Will the 4 bolt mains of the R block increase that capacity at all?

No way I'd chance killing a good block with a junk crank. An external balanced forged crank would be pretty damn cheap insurance.

You can throw an eagle or scat crank in it for really good prices, and be good for at least 1000hp with no trouble.

over kill is always good .....build a motor 700hp but know in the back of mind it handle way more. just in case... Why run on the edge of shiten the pan ...

650hp max, no more than 6200-6300rpms. Did you get the crank turned 10/10 and maybe get it magnafluxed? It will help strengthen it.

I put 611hp to the wheels with a stock bottom end, but also broke 3 other stock bottom ends. At lease put an eagle crank in it…
