As far as airports go, check flights into BWI (76 miles), Reagan National (51 miles) and Dulles (79 miles). I personally think the best one is BWI, it's easier to get in and out of and to get a rental car.

I don't really have any input on Hotels because I live close enough to drive back and forth. I assume you checked the ones on the web page, you can also pull up Maryland International Raceway on google maps and use the search nearby function and search Hotels.

Stay in LaPlata MD. There are a few hotels there, Holiday Inn Express, Best Western and a few others. I am partial to DCA for flying.

 

I would try to avoid Waldorf and go for LaPlata (which is strict, and will lock your $$$ up quick for partying), California, MD or lexington Park area (within 15 Miles) of MIR. There are plenty of good places between D.C. and Baltamore that are less than a 1 1/2 hour drive from MIR. Just not in traffic hour.

MIR is kind of nowhere but easily to get to. Just pendindg on traffic (hours) to get there.

 

Oh and far as flying go for BWI. Too much BS, drama, money and drama to go to DCA or Dulles airports in VA. They're only the ones resangoly close to MIR.

 

Never had to get a hotel cause i live close but for flying i like bwi the most.
