Im trying to take advantage of the cold weather lately and get cold starts under control. But Im having a problem with the engine wanting to die if you fire the engine up and touch the throttle. Ive found the reason why it does it but cant seem to find a solution.

Im using a DBW throttle body, the "hard stop" is set at 11.2% in the pedal vs blade setting. Its runs and drives perfect (800rpm idle) when the engine is up over 130* but when the engine is cold the high idle is commanded to 1100rpm (15% throttle is the result). If you touch the throttle it goes right to the 11.2% hard stop and dies, or surges badly.

If you start the engine and let it run until warmed without touching the throttle it wont mess up. Only if you touch the throttle. Anyway to fix this??? its a minor thing but Im picky and want OE like driveability in all conditions

I can post a log if needed

I will increase the hold position and see if it helps. Ive tried 0-55 without it geting any better.

I seem to remember this being normal. You don't need iac doing anything while you are in control of the throttle. Also dbw
This is the way its working currently.

"throttle blade hard stop" 11.2% This number gives me a rock steady 800rpm idle when engine is warm

Cold engine desired idle 1100 rpm. The increase in cold idle RPM makes the throttle blade 15.2% (the IAC value is 40% aka 4% increase is blade %)

When I barely touch the pedal and move it 1% the IAC goes to 0 which makes the blade angle 12%, where it should go to 16%. You still need IAC control in conditions like this
