I have been using a carb on my 505 bbc, -2 brodix, comp cam 694 Lift 264-272 @.050 foot brake, launch at 2500 shift at 7000 rpm cross 1/8 mile at 7200 bracket car. I have bought a Rons Fuel Injection used and have no base line for a tune up. Trying not to torch anything out of the gate. My engine makes an estimated 675 to 700 HP. Can any one help with some insight on an intial tune up? Nozzle size, return pill, barrel valve leak persentage.

Nobody can help you with the limited info you've given.

Will need the following:

. Engine CID
. Shift RPM & Max RPM
. Mechanical Compression Ratio (Dynamic preferred)
. Actual Gallons Per Minute (GPM) of Pump @ 4000 Pump RPM
. Actual Flow of Nozzles/Jets (need a list of all nozzles/jets you have)
. Your Local Racing Weather (Temp in F, Humidity, Barometric Pressure)

Well you have to be carefull. Because alot of people buy a pump, then later have to send it back to get it upgraded, or more flow added. So depending on the markings, it could be a 0, or a 01/2, 1,2 etc... Go to killerrons.com and read his section about buying used setups. In my opinion its alot of true facts. Not a way of telling you you shouldnt have bought it. James is real good with these setups, you might just want to send him your stuff. And pay him a few bucks to check it out and give you a good baseline, based on your fuel pump, barrell valve etc... The toilet setup is pretty easy to get a handle on, But if you have the wrong parts, it could be easy to get lost, and ruin some parts. Also have him explain the operation of how the system works, with the cable shutoff lean out. I see so many guys idleing at full fuel, and then wonder why they make no heat. And wonder why there oil is milky. Good luck to ya.

DoubleD, have you gotten more help with this yet? I can help. Check ur pm's.

I see you got a older purple BV and a gold pump. Both items may need rebuilding. Does the BV have any signs of leakage around the spool valve? The gold pump has not been sold for a few years. It is a vain type pump and will wear more quickly than a gear pump.

What nozzle jet's do you have?
What size is the pump? Should be marked with "0" of "0 1/2"
