No politician or public official caused it. Two of the major providers (Nexstar for one) of broadcast media pulled his show on their own after hearing from their customers/clients.
This is policing action by the people, not government officials.
IMHO, it's not just this instance, Kimmel, the View, GMA and other ABC shows are solidly politically left leaning and their licenses, controlled by the FCC, require them to be broadly fair and beneficial to the people. Kimmel leans extremely left, never had a bad word to say about brain dead Joe - or any Dim for that matter - and never had a good thing to say about DJT.

Next Star and Sinclair complained because sponsors were threatening to pull ads, and since ABC is owned by Disney, they had to appease the shareholders of these markets and pulled the show.
Just because you have a show, doesn't mean you can spew bullshit. There are rules for performing on the platform that you are provided. The rules are enforced by the FCC.

 

This was the last straw. Money is the bottom line in almost every single case. If he were raking in bazzlions, he would still be at his pulpit cashing in because cash is king in every enterprise. Performing poorly and now about to cost the company even more cash? There's the door. The 18-34 demographic bears this out...

 

Heard some talking head last night make a good point. Kimmel most likely had a "morals clause" in his contract which by making an obvious lie to his audience, he most likely violated.
