1000% wouldn’t recommend using Grundy (Philadelphia insurance company)! Recently got into an accident, in my classic Impala. This process has been nothing but hell. They said they would pay for the tow bill. I sent them the receipt. It still hasn’t been paid. They sent an investigator out to my house to grill me and ask me personal questions about why I live in my neighborhood that I live in. The vehicle is at a shop currently, they want me to tow it back to my house, so they don’t have to pay the shop storage. The vehicle is currently in pieces. He asked me about family members. Asked how the accident happened, which I had no problems with explaining. Asked to come into my home, which I had to politely refuse. Took pictures of everything in my garage. On top of this, the communication with my adjuster has been completely nonexistent. They hired a lawyer firm, and told me that they will be the point of contact from now on out. The lawyer firm asked for my phone records, that states that they will have full access to any data text messages, phone calls, and pictures on my phone. I have refused to give this because it is a complete violation of privacy. When I was talking to the lawyer office, they said I needed to go under oath. I believe that went well, but the lawyer office also asked for personal information like my Apple ID and very personal things like my financial history to see if I’m in debt or not. This has been a complete hassle, for getting in a accident that I had no control of. They don’t want to pay out the claim, because it is a vehicle worth the money. I am extremely disappointed that I chose this company. Going on my third month of their investigation process with still no clear communication, and no answers. This process has been absolutely hell. I wouldn’t wish this on anybody. They are trying to make me out like a criminal for getting into a accident.

First, welcome to the Bullet. Second, I'm sorry to hear about your accident.

But I can't help to wonder what the other side of this story is. I have lost a

show truck to a total lost (it was stolen) and went through nothing like you are.

I wish you the best, but would love to hear the entire story.

Thank you for your concern! I took out my vehicle for a joy ride on a Sunday. The weather got nasty very quickly as it does in Texas. When I checked the weather, I didn’t see any rain on the radar, but it’s still ended up raining. I was driving down the road, and the vehicle spun out and ended up in a ditch. Contacted a family member to come and get me because the car wouldn’t start and was stuck. The got in contact with a tow truck company to come get the car. The car was taken to a shop where they later examined the damages. I then contacted the Grundy. Please save the negativity as this is very serious in my life. I just wanted to share my experience because I’ve been going through a lot with this process. I don’t wish this on anybody. I’ve been in many accidents, and never been this disgruntled about the process. I’m still very sad about my vehicle as these are rare to come by without spending an arm and a leg.

Hello Cameron, thank you for sharing. I had one claim with them in the past about 3 years. They handled the claim great, but it also fell on another insurance company from the other party that rear ended me. The whole gist of this post is to inform people… this situation that I am going through is a little different because it was weather related and there wasn’t another party involved. Therefore, they are doing everything possible to prolong and not cover the claim. Up until now I thought Grundy was great. Now that I’m going through this, I am disgusted that I was using them to insure my vehicles.
