not to spam up the place, but we at madcap are dealers for a shitload of stuff. Mostly enigne and electronics related, no seats or cells etc.
Racepak, holley, msd, etc along with most engine parts.
This. And a big bonus is expert advice if you have questions about the parts. Where else are you going to have access to the knowledge of a shop that builds Pro Stock, .90 class, bracket, Stock/Super Stock Top Sportsman/Top Dragster etc. engines for many of the top racers? Two dyno cells, always building and dynoing something, whether NA or nitrous or blown or boosted or ProCharged. Knows Holley EFI and Racepak inside and out from running it in Pro Stock. They are also sportman racers and Bob is very open with sharing what he knows with his customers. I've learned a TON of stuff from them. On some stuff they beat the prices of Summit/Jegs and always competive. Can't be beat IMO. MadCap Racing Engines 303 298-0044

I'm right down the road from Lane's,been using them for the best part of 40 years.Know George and the 2- boys( owners) real well, stand up people. But how bad is it to have a store like that within 30 minutes of you? Wife don't like it! Lanes also does mail order and shipping, usually have everything I need in stock. They have catalogs for racing, drag and circle, hot rods and just about anything you could want. Watervliet,Michigan.Tom.. Sorry don't have their number handy.

Those guys are just a quick drive away, I have to make sure I have a list with me and only carry enough cash to buy what is on my list. Otherwise I will get into big trouble with the budget. I am also lucky they are small, but when you are plumbing a engine at 11:00PM on a Friday night its good to know they have your back if you forgot a part and head there Saturday morning for a fitting run.

I would be fucked if I lived by Jegs, Summit or Lane.

I was looking at a Summit catalog the other day that came with parts, and a thought came over me.. before we know it, one day all of this is no longer going to exist. And it was a sad moment realizing that we live in a world full of sheep that are going to let it happen.

Your local speed shop is about as " little guy " as you are going to find. That is where I buy all my race related stuff, but I kind of have to cause they are my sponsor. Surprisingly they are within a few $ of the box stores, and the owner will drop my parts off at my house cause he only lives a few miles away. I know that not everyone has a local speed shop in their area, but if you do, support it for the few extra $ it might cost you.

applied racing technology....they come through clutch very often on oddball shit--for oem stuff i go to rock auto but my main vendor for my shop is unfortunately advance auto for run of the mill stuff i need quick...but at least my local av has actual intelligent workers that are into cars-and own hotrods so they arent complete dumbasses..

I like Competition Products to and speedway motors and Doug Hebert and quite a few more as well as Summit and Jegs and small shops, Why hate on any small company that did great and became bigger ? are we all going to say fuck competition products and speedway because they did great as a business and became larger and larger ? I still buy from summit and Jegs as well as the others , Why do i ? because they employ a bunch of Americans just like us.

I pass Summit on the way to work every day. The people who work there are my neighbors, more or less. Plus, I appreciate the fact that they chose my city to build a distribution center. I spend money with them for the hot rod stuff. To me, they are the local people.

Raceplumbing.net

much cheaper than summit and jegs usually. Great customer service as well. I have bought many things from here and saved lots of money. Make yourself an account to see the real savings. Well worth it.

Guy in my neighborhood has a small speed shop and I built two cars using him as my primary source. It might cost a few dollars more but I called him on Christmas Day a few years ago and he brought some parts to my house to get my mustang running. Only called to leave a message on his shop phone but it forwarded to his cell and he was more than happy to grab parts and even lend a hand. That’s worth the added cost. Plus he drop ships to other friends that dont live close.
