Still up in the air on side slinger or gear driven Procharger on the street.
With the gear driven how do you guys mount your rads?
Off to the side or has anyone ran two smaller rads on either side of the Procharger?
If you have pics I’d like to see different opions

Thanks for any and all info

Here's my latest build as it sits. Had two side slingers before this, but after about 18 PSI, it would shred the serp belt and soon as I hit it. Said screw this and went with an Alston CDS. BTW, you can get different gear sets from Alston. Not as simple as a pulley swap, but still doable. As you can see, there really wasn't room to do anything but dual radiators. The front end had to be modified significantly to cram everything in there.

actually our Drive uses Winters quick change rear end gears.. available from places like Speedway for under 80.00 a set.
they are 8620 material, & ride in an oil bath...
Alternator mounting kits are also available .

Thanks again! It's a Vortech, not a Procharger. Nothing against Procharger. They make fine blowers. But I've overspun the hell out of my two previous Vortechs for several years each, and couldn't hurt them. My first is still going strong on a friend's Impala. So it was a no-brainer for me to get another. This one is the V-21 XB110 (~110 mm). Vortech claims 3100 CFM, 35 PSI, and 1900 HP capability. We'll see...

I couldn't tell you, nor do I want to start a brand war. I've been happy with my Vortechs, and I know guys that are happy with their Prochargers. I will say my V-21 wasn't the top dog when I bought it. They had a V-28 that was rated at 2800 HP. But as it was my daily driver at that time, I decided to show a little restraint. Plus I'll probably have trouble keeping trannys in it as is. But I think they make a V-30 now, so with either, there's usually an upgrade path.

Chris Alston gear drive with a f2, street driven, radiator under trunk with a surge tank in trunk. I run the license plate over the blower inlet on the street.

Don't know what it would do to the unit without the gear set. But I also don't understand why you'd want to do it. A lot of hassle for no obvious gain. Mine was my daily driver, with two different blowers, for the last 7 years. Drove it to the grocery store, track, etc. all the time. Just never dipped into the skinny pedal around town. Well almost never. ;)

thats why i went with a f-2 side slinger less messing around with radiator and i can take the belt off for the drive on drag week my car is only certified to run 8.50

The problem I have with side slinger is my engine is centered in the engine bay.
So I’d have to modify the inner apron and then redo the front strut bar for my cage.
I’ve come to the realization that removing the rad cradle and going a Steve Morris reverse forward mount or gear drive is the way I need to go to build the HP I’m looking for.
If I want to be competitive in pro street PA at hotrod drag week or King Street at Brainerd int raceway in Brainerd, MN I need 2000hp

I would go with a CDS or New Era drive, both offer a bunch of accessories a streetcar needs. The Procharger drive looks to only offer a fuel pump accessory drive. Ive got a New Era drive and its a nice piece.

Hey 572charger,
I was going to do the same set up as you but since I’ve been asking about hp to weight and ET I needed to step my game up.
Lol
But all it is....is more money and time!!!
