We have all watched the show. I kind of like the fact they just either get the car running, or make it look better, or both,..but it's not about mega dollar, years long build,...or cars being flipped for big profit on a stupid deadline.
But recently I met the owner of a 68 Camaro convertible showcased in Season 1, episode 7.
He was not the owner when the car was on the show, but he bought it from the lady who was. Now season one was quite a few years ago, so perhaps things have changed,..but what he told me, that the previous owner told him, about the Garage Squad experience was quite surprising.
First off, I have always gotten the impression that they must come in ahead of time, scope out what the car needs, put in the orders for part and material, ..then they show up with the film crew on the day they supposedly see the car for the first time. Then it seems like they take a full week, and get it done. I'm sure we only see the edited, shortened, labor that is put into it, often working around the clock to get it done,...I assume.
Well first off, that week build on this camaro took months. She said they left, and came back here and there, randomly...to finally finish it.
And the owners of the cars? They are not always who they present as the owners,.....actors are used or were used, so I assume she was one of the owners that was portrayed by some other person.
I can't find it online for free,...sites want you to pay for it like in the link below.
