Any right or wrong way to weld the axle tubes to the pumpkin ??? I have seen some weld all the way around , others 3 places... Some says they don't need it at all....

Back when I looked into it, some places recommend to get them straighten 1st but others just stitch-weld them up on the car. I also rem some argument made about the metals of the pig vs tubes.
Some first thought the pumpkin was cast iron, but later found out its cast steel..
I only worry if they could warp easy... Read where some pre heated the tube/pumpkin and welded.... Others say they mig welded , no preheat and worked out fine

I used a mig. Left center and axles in to hold everything in place. Welded it 360, then 2" long weaves verted centered on the front and back of tubes. Always worked for me so i stuck with it.

I was told to mig them and when you start to not stop until you were all the way around.

I use to mig them but now I use a TIG, and you WILL need to straighten it when done. The rear isn't straight now, and it will potentially be worse after the welding. After the work, do yourself a favor and brace it.
