Anyone using these? I've been thinking of getting a set of 4" in/out and was just wondering how they sound and work. Anyone?

I run a pair of the collector mufflers with 2-1/2" inlets, 5" outlets and they take a little edge off. I run 4.60's and will run open collectors later this year to see any improvement. I like running mufflers and had borlas before these. Prefered the borlas, less sound, and roudn shape added clearance, but the flowmasters are unique sounding and I ended up shortening them for more clearance. I was looking for the least restricitive muffler to meet a rule requirement adn feel the flowmaster collector met that. Freind of mine has the meth muffler they make and they do make a difference for sure on his 14:1 compression 500ci engine. Check them out as well, they still make them just dont promote them as much.

What kind of car? Do they dampen the sound at all?

I'm really only interested in softening the idle sound around the pits and here at the house. I don't care how loud it is going down the track. I had the 2 1/8 to 4" Flowmaster Collector mufflers before going to open 4" collectors. Like a dumbass, I sold those mufflers during the offseason and now wish I hadn't as performance was the same with or without them. Now it's just too loud. If the Flowmaster Outlaw 4" mufflers will do what I want them too, I'll go that route.
