Crower stainless steel shaft mount rocker arms, anyone have experience with these? They seem like a real reliable set but maybe too heavy for a drag car. 8000 rpm 427windsor ford engine with inline heads. More reliable than the jesel's or T+D's??

I would go with the T/D aluminum rocker. Very rarely do they brake unless geometry is WAY off. They take some abuse from real radical cam profiles with real strong springs as well as on the hit. I very rarely run Steel rockers unless the customer already has them and can't fit new ones in the budget, but they weren't attached to shafts.

Not to hijack, but I am going to be purchasing my rockers soon and I wanted to know what stainless rockers 1.7 ratio for BBC are recommend. Do you have a Jegs part number?

I was going to go with Jesel on my BBC but got talked into a set of Crower Stainless Shaft Mount rockers by a local engine builder. I have turned them pretty hard over and over and they have been flawless. I had broken 2 crane gold and 1 crane pro gold before I switched. I am turning the engine around 7600+ and would go with crower again.

Thanks,

Chris

I run the Crower SS rockers on my 588 BBF. Never any issues. Broke a couple of aluminum rockers before I switched.

Crower now has some new shaft rockers. Similar to T&D, Jesel, etc, but they use SS instead of aluminum bodies. I like the idea of that just for the fatigue resistance.

Those are the ones Im looking at, I really like the idea of these stainless rockers because I am planning on making drag week one of these years and putting some street miles on the car. I have seen plenty of valve train related problems with radically cammed "street" cars. I am hesitant of using them because of the weight difference though, I will have to call crower today and see what they can tell me.

they do not "make" a complete setup for a SBF.
but you can buy the rockers and make your own shafts and mounting plate to position them on the head.
Who is "they"? If you are referring to T&D, I believe you are incorrect. T&D SBF (stock 302/351 head) part # 7300

I think he is referring to the crower stainless rocker arms, they dont make them for fords at ALL.. but of course you can order the rockers and make them work but Im not looking to invest that much time into them. T+D makes a few sets for Fords and the 7350 number is for Victor 15* heads!
