Copper head gaskets.. O-ring the block or heads??

One gasket company says block (SCE) and the other (Clark) says always in the heads.

Which is preferred and why?

I am leaning towards putting the o-ring in the heads and receiver groove in the block because I feel the hard iron block will bite into the gasket better.

O-ring in block only on my own, but I got the sleeves hanging outta the block a good bit.

has anyone here ever used/done a thick/.250" copper shim gasket with o ring groves cut into it on both sides of it, any issues?...

found a bit of info but would like to find more, O ringing head gasket...

looking to do another 456ci RPM W short block with pistons .200" out of hole with shim gasket and wondered with this thick of copper shim if O ringing it instead would be the way to go.

you retarded crybaby bitch aussi's like yourself that live your useless lives on this site worrying about what Others have all the time should really go a put a bullet in your own heads and be done with it.

then you wouldint have to moan like a little bitch so much about owning a real engine instead of jerking off with a fucking flathead asswipe.

anyone here sell the ICS gasket???

It's only as thick as .093 for the thickest gasket they offer.

Copper comes in a wide range of thickness choices; (from .021” to .093” in roughly ten thousandths increments) providing the options necessary to optimize piston to valve, piston to head and, in wedge combustion chambers, piston to quench area

I seen that posted also, I was hoping someone here that sells these could tell me if it can be ordered in a custom .250" thickness like some of the other copper gasket company versions.

seen Flatout has some rubber coat ones now also, kind of like the O ring idea though...

Ass backwards. Look at where they place them in nitro engines and then think. The heads always move more than the block, so the o-ring needs to go in the head. You'll never find them in the block for that reason on a nitro engine or the vast majority of alky engines.
Best is wire on both top and bottom if you have severe detonation problems and lose gasket seal.

.

Again, no expert, I was always taught block, receiver grove head, and it still makes sense to me??
I've never heard you want the wire to move around??
I do admit, I switched to Cometics 5 years ago, and have no intention of going back??
