Friend gave me a Q-See cctv system.
I have Rasplus for my remote viewing on my other 2 properties and it works flawless.
I want to use Rasplus with this Q-See system.
Right now I am connected on my LAN.
I can ping the dvr and I have success.
When I open Rasplus for this dvr I get the error message:
"All server channels are being used."

I did a search and found a couple of other people with the same problem but there was no resolve to this error.

Anyone have any ideas?
thx

What systems is the RASplus connecting to?

Q-See is a OEMed by Dahua

Dahua OEMs for dozens of companies, including some of the biggest names in security, including Tyco, Panasonic, and Honeywell. The following directory includes 50+ companies that OEM some products from Dahua, This does not cover all Dahua OEMs as most hide the association.

ADT
Advidia
Amcrest
Ameta
Annke
Aposonic
Bosch (DVRs)
Bticino
Cantek
CCTV Security Pros
DH Vision
Dotix
DVR Unlimited
eLine
FLIR / Lorex
GSS
Honeywell
IC Realtime
Impath Networks
Inaxsys
IndigoVision
Infinity CCTV
Innekt
IntelBras
KBVision
Legrand
Lumixen
Maxron
Panasonic

Tyco Holis
Tyco Illustra Essentials
Ura
VIP Vision
Watashi
Watchnet
Winic

Typically, these partners take Dahua product and substitute their branding, along side their own internally developed product, or in some cases, other OEMs, making it sometimes difficult to determine what is and is not OEM. More confusing, many companies change OEMs from time to time.

Note: there are certainly far more Dahua OEMs than this list as our information sources are primarily North American based and even within North America, surely there are some others not yet listed.

Beware The Backdoor

A major vulnerability has been found in Dahua cameras, allowing unauthorized admin access, very likely impacting all the OEMs on this list, as well. See our report Dahua Backdoor Uncovered for more details. OEMs FLIR and Honeywell have already responded with their plans to address this issue.

Those using cameras from this OEM list should be sure to check for this vulnerability and seek new firmware from their OEM immediately.

Which is why I never recommend putting your LIVED IN HOME security accessible to the internet.

I can see the usefulness of a vacation home , but not your lived in home.

That ain't no shit,
Preese hehrow softly address DVR kindly..

I deal with the output of DVRs every day, and thankfully the Chicoms are really not innovators, they steal shit from each other constantly and when you start looking at the files the DVRs spit out, they are almost all H264 with their own little header so it becomes "theirs".

That and they grab the first three letters out of a can of alphabet soup to name their file extensions.

I got the Q-see figured out at my house on my LAN.
Using the Q-see software for remote video monitoring.
System is working perfect.
I decided to give it back to my friend because it emails you 3 pics when a camera detects motion.
Setup the system in his office, on his LAN. Everything working as it should.
Shut the system down for the night.
Next day unplugged the system and moved it to his back building where the cameras are installed.
The DVR lost all the settings.
It is on the same LAN as previous.
Cannot connect to the network.
The back building is maybe 200-250 ft. from his office.
This is a wired LAN.
When I ping the DVR from the office I get 4 packets sent 3 received, 1 lost.
Is the run too far?
Why did the Q-see DVR lose its settings?
Model QT548.
thx

I got the wiring problem straightened out.
Now from the back building I can get to the internet on my laptop.
No go with the DVR.
My son thinks the run is to far. 320ft.
He suggested a switch in the office where the back building wire comes in.
Shortens the run about 30ft.
I can view my cameras, at my property, on the internet.
Bit when we try to go to a website the link fails.
We tried IE and Chrome. Both failed?
Any ideas?
thx
David

P.S. We had a Matrix/ADT DVR connected in the back building and it worked fine. Not so with the Q-see.

Alright, installed a switch in the office and another switch in the back building by the DVR system. Working perfect.
Now he had a power failure and the system won't boot up.
Unit has a warning sticker on it that states "Do not turn unit off with the switch. It must be shut down in the software."
I tried to use a recovery file from the Q-see site, but no go.
Unit turns on, coolant fan is running as is the hard drive. Power light on front of unit is illuminated.
Any ideas? Or is it toast?
Thx
