Are people seeing a definite improvement hooking consistently when going to cal-tracs? Im especially concerned with drag radials. Its for a 79 f100 shortbed 4100lbs with dropped I beams up front and cheap 90/10s and a flip in the back (rear on top of springs) with slapper bars custom made right at the spring eye and Rancho 9000s mounted straight up behind the rear. Its a bbf that made 455 to the wheels and a 175 shot on top of that with a c6 3500 coan converter. It will hook on a 28x10.5 1.49 60ft but I want to get it going with radials. It spins delaying 3 tenths with a digiset.

Justrunit, do you have a flip-kit on the rear of your truck ? Doesn't look super low... looks like it sits like mine... I just have the Shackle extender and the Bracket up front... without flipping the axle... about 4 inches of drop

I have been wondering if flipping the Axle or keeping it in the stock location makes any difference with the Cal-Tracs

Thanks Bowtieoverdrive.com has several on there site and you can search for Justrunit on youtube several on there. We was picked 2007/2008 Hot Rod pump gas drags also she run 10.40 @ 128 at memphis with a 1.58 60 ft time you do the math. It went 6.40 at Hub city back in December but just run 10.3 quarter mile four runs on that bottle.

What does your front suspension consist of? I have over 5" of travel in the front. I plan on ordering the bars in the next couple weeks.

It hooked on a 28x10.5 slick with a 200 shot right out of the hole with my old set-up. I have to delay the nitrous now and it still spins on the radials with 175hp. Best 60ft 1.55. Never got a chance to run the slicks with the current motor. Im hoping for consistent 1.4s. I eventually want to hit the 9s with i-beams/leaf springs with a bigger motor.

I have been high 9s... best ever with 75mph tail wind is 1.50 flat... BUT ... After looking threw this site i have learned alot and looking forward fixing that !!.. there are alot more adjustments with the caltraxs .. they are a very good product for the money and alot more ground clearnace ... when slapper bars... Also.. a huge mistake i made... if you have trouble hooking it on a slick there is no way in hell its going to hook on a DR....get it close on a Slick then make the switch...

I'm not a hardcore racer or anything. But I did go from slapper bars to caltracs and I noticed a definate improvement in the way the truck feels on the launch. I haven't had it back to the real track(our local track don't have 60ft times) with the caltracs, but I can tell you that it can take a harder launch without breaking the tires loose at our local track which is just an airstrip.

The nitrous hits alot harder out of the gate than a turbo so that isn't a fair comparison. How fast have you been?

Nobody on here has ever gone from slappers to cal-tracs? I figured this was a popular transition. Just want to make sure they will help me with what I am trying to accomplish.
