Searching for information to make sure this is true. I was told that a blow thru carb can be used on a NA motor. I am not sure and wanted to verify what I was told. If it is true then I wont have to spend money on a NA then spend money again on a blow thru when I turbo the car when money allows.

I ran a CSU blow throu carb. It will run very fat N/A and under a load will kill the motor with fuel. It will still run, but definetly not very efficient IMO. You will have to make changes in order to drive it N/A and if your looking to maximize your N/A deal then its definetly the wrong way to go. It all depends on what the blow through carb was built for.

I did talk to Kevin@CSU and he did say that he would take into consideration that it was being used as a NA. Being on such a tight budget just to hear this car run after a 3.5 year build I decided to do a NA motor then save up and do a nice turbo motor when money permits.
I had been looking for a HP holley at a good price and then send it on down to Kevin. I may need to just buy a nice built carb(750) and then worry about the blow thru later.
Any suggestion????

Thank you

I think you answered your own question. Sounds like the best way to go to me. 750 now and convert or sell it later to go blow through.

The carb will not function on an n/a engine if it's designed for blow thru. I've tried to run Filipowski's engine without the carb hat and part throttle/idle is fine but when you tip into the throttle hard it gets real, upset. What exactly it was doing, I didn't really care it's not an n/a engine.

The carb is calibrated to move a higher amount of fuel at X signal. Hard to explain, but you would not take a alky carb designed to move twice as much fuel and put it on a gas engine and it run good.

Ya ...the more I think about it that may be the correct way to do it. I guess now I need to decide what carb I need to run.
This car is a weekend car that will see the track a few times but basically a weekend play toy. Here is Ca. I wouldnt need a choke but I do want a real crisp throttle.
Need suggestions please...
