Got a gen lll hemi with a couple of 67 mm Turbos and I can't keep the gaskets sealed for more than acouple laps at a time.... I'm still on the stock super flimsy heads, with only 4 bolts per cylinder.. I'm using clear silicone right now and after the heads move around a lil it breaks the silicone seal and starts getting water in the cylinders.. do any of you guys know of anything that works better ? Something that can move with the head and stay sealed ? The plan for next season is a better set of heads but would like to be able to get through this season on the heads I've got.. thanx

Heads are o ringed.. didn't have enuff room around the sleeves for o rings in the block... Tried the flatout gaskets... Had water running out onto the ground without silicone.. the bores in the gasket didn't line up with the cylinders for shit either.... The cometic gasket fits perfect, just trying to find something that works longer than the silicone.. somebody has to gave a trick they don't mind giving up ? lol

I use this stuff called Yamabond, it comes in tubes, and I basically paint it on my copper gaskets, doing one per side and then torquing them in steps, this is used for the assembly of motorcycle cases and works quite well for me, I'm a Pontiac guy which is similar to some fords that only have the luxury of ten head bolts per cylinder, I'd imagine it could work on multiple layered gaskets too, but I just used permatex spray on my Chevy small block for some added insurance, I hope it helps!

late gen III hemi has structural problems with the heads..
along with the valve seats falling out..
we have been experimenting with drilling and tapping heads from the spring side to run threeadded rods in to force / support the chamber side of the head..

same issue with every head chevy/ ford / dodge/ toyota...
at one point before a legit aftermarket head is developed..

Permatex gasket maker "300"...paint very thinly on both sides of gasket and both block and head surface.....don't use to much because can block water passages..but so can any of the other products.....
I have always used this on my small block mopar with coppers....was twin 61's making 900rwhp at 25 psi......

then twin KO gt42's making 1000rwhp at 20psi...even with lifting the head once/twice due to some issues still not a drop of water running out or into cylinders......the small blockl mopar has an oil passage that passes up through the head/block so this sealant keeps the 60-70psi oil pressure in it's place also...

I use the Permatex super 300, and do it EXACTLY by Nelson's instructs in this article and stopped all of my cylinder head problems. The heads still come off the block easy and the 300 is easier to clean up than silicon because carb/brake cleaner cuts it.
My combo is a BBC and boost up to 30psi with copper/O-rings/recievers. Was having sealing problems with the silicon and this setup.
Heres his article
