Any updates after almost 2 years?
I have used about every American made roller lifter known to man and BAM Lifters provide us the best value compared to any other brand we have used. Probably used 50-60 sets with zero failures and the sizing is the best I have seen period.

Brad is excellent to deal with but as stated, he only sells to engine builders.

Ill throw .02 in as well.
We were using Isky EZMax and other than sizing issues we were happy
switched to BAM for a few reasons, sizing being one of them. They have been outstanding. The sizing is awesome. The DLC pin version is just badass.
We became a dealer right before this thread started actually, and we use them in 90% of what we do.
And as was mentioned, Brad is a good dude to work with as well

What features do you like better about the BAM over the Morel BBC 4845 Ultra Pro solid roller lifters? Is pricing a consideration? What is the coating on the Black Mamba compared to the BAM DLC?
We had a wheel break on a Morel and a while back the Staub guy posted on here that he also had a wheel failure. When you have a problem with Morel, it's impossible to talk to an engineer there, you have a better chance of getting Donald Trump on the phone.

Buying from BAM, you deal directly with Brad Miller who is the engineer and owner. Also, he is willing to do custom features with fairly small batch requirements.

Pricing is close, BAM's are slightly less expensive. It's been about three years since I purchased Morels, we were buying them from Ken at Motorsports Unlimited in Ohio, he had the best price on Morels at the time and is also great to work with.

I have no idea what coating Morel uses, but as noted, the BAM DLC's are "BAD ASS".

Yes, I buy mine from Ken also. He is the closest dealer to Morel, being just a few miles away. He has quick turn around on Morel rebuilds as he just takes them over and picks them up. His pricing and knowledge are a plus. He has a good selection of valvetrain brands and inventory normally. Very helpful on springs, pushrods, retainers and valve locks selection.

What's the most extreme application you have used them in? (Spring pressures, rocker ratios, rpm)

I havent used them in really high RPM stuff, but i have them in 425 seat pressure and over an inch of lift at the valve, and have had good luck with them. 8500 rpm. .560 lobe lift
Im actually pretty happy overall with them. Its only been a couple years, so the long term data pool isnt there yet, but so far i like them enough i run them in customer stuff, and in my own personal stuff. I actually ran them in my stuff first being a crash test dummy...lol

Bob if you don't mind answering, needle, bushing or DLC steel axle in your stuff? The DLC steel is what I'm curious about. I have a friend who owns a machine shop and years ago he said this is how someone should make a lifter. Then when I heard about these and thought, "yep he was right".

we use the DLC shaft version. Almost exclusively.

Any Engine guys here using these BAM roller lifters.
Got an Engine in with these in and I'm kinda Impressed with them, Size is good, look mint with 200 passes on them.

Just seeing if anyone's been using them.... Useful info please.
No Bashing or another types better, want to hear real results only.

Thanks,
RCM
I've been using them in my Sportsman engines and have been very happy to date. What most don't know is BAM is a one-man-band. So you don't have to worry about who's doing what to what part of the lifter from day to day. His quality and workmanship I feel for the application is honestly 2nd to none. He has a few different levels of lifters depending on application and all work well...

Is there any dealers on here of these? If so could you PM me with prices for a set for a sbc. Thanks
I am a dealer for BAM and shoot me an email regarding what your looking for exactly. (offsets and so forth) nick.ferri@hotmail.com

Thanks,
Nick

Nick, do you use any BBC Morel lifters for BBC solid roller? 4845 for .842", I think. If not why, please.
I quit using them cause i really don't like how much oil they pump to the wheel/axle...
And it's all the time because it tied to the oil band....
I try to control windage, not help create it....

Hello Mark,

Well as everyone knows I have been doing pretty much nothing but NHRA Pro Stock engines since 2001. When I made the decision to part ways with Elite and do my own thing. I wanted to get back into Sportsman racing again and build anything from a street performance engine to a Pro Mod engine and including even circle track stuff. Back when I got started in business in 1986 with Dave Cappriotti who then owned Madcap and then working for Patterson Racing for another hand full of years. I build a lot of different type of engines and enjoyed it very much. Now that I am exploring all those options again, I have been very fortunate to have built a lot of relationships with a lot of people and manufactures along the way. Building world championship Pro Stock engines for 20 years now has opened a lot of doors for me. I get to hear a lot of ins and outs with what's going on in the industry.

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about the Morel lifters. If anything Chris Straub has been more than helpful with me. I had them rebuild a set of BBC lifters for me just over a year ago and I had zero issues with them. But in saying that at the end of the day, business is business. I do have a rule in my endeavors and how I run a shop. Quality is KING! I have to run a shop as efficiently as I can but I won't skimp in quality. I will always provide the best quality for what the application call for. Meaning for example, I can't put Jesel parts in everything I build. I can't put a Winberg crank in every S/G engine I build. But again, I will put what I feel are the best parts in what the application requires.

Sorry for the life history but I guess I just got on a roll... Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Nick

awesome answer Nick. Are you still involved with the Cuadras?
Nope! I've been spending most of my time on a program that's not as committed like the teams I have been fortunate to work with in the past. I'm better off spending that time on building something more long term like my business...

I'm very fortunate to have had won 5 NHRA Pro Stock World Championships! BUT in saying that, I was never alone in doing that. I was even more fortunate to work with teams that knew exactly what it took to be a winning team let along a championship caliber team. There are numerous elements in making a team successful team. No different than any professional sports team, it's never just one thing and or person that makes it successful. So, in saying that, doing something at that level if not fully committed, just isn't in my best interest...

I will enjoy building NFR and actually looking forward to racing again here in the near future, so stay tuned for that. lol

Nick
