If you guys are following along with build up of the DragBoss Garage Mustang. remove if not allowed.
This video, you will meet Eric Johnson, who I bought the DragBoss Mustang from. You will also meet Brian hayes, and John Kaymmeyer. I have known these guys for close to 20 years. I have been cleaning the Mustang inside and out, and it is really coming out better than I thought. The paint on the Mustang, is a single stage enamel, and with clear coat. There are lots of scratches and dings for being under raps for close to 20 years. Been learning some tips, from my Buddy Ronnie Kirkpatrick. I will try his polishing techniques, and see what we can do to improve the Crimson Red. It was great to chat with my buddies, who took time from their bust schedule, to drive up, and hang out at "The DragBoss Garage". Sit back and listen to the stories from back in the day.
Any Info on the Steve Smith Ford 428 CJ Mustang, from way back in the day, 1970 ish, let me know be cool to see some pics of John's Mustang, when it was raced from Dave Smith Ford, in Pataskala. Ohio. Stay tuned.

Happy New Year 2022 Guys, this is a vid showing some vintage photo and vids from Marcell Jordon from over 20 year ago. I do have one of these runs in another vid, but one is new. This is the DragBoss Garage Mustang that our family is rebuilding. This ran a 383 iron 4v headed Cleveland with a strip dominator, Jerico 4 speed, with 4.29 gears, and 29.5 inch tire. Forgot what it weighed, think like 3200 lbs. I also included what it looks like now 20 years later. Lot has changed..

Happy New yr to you and everyone as well...

Joke of the day Drag Boss you said a Lot has changed and referencing the car...

Nothing has really changed in the Cleveland being the Best HEAD OF ALL TIME... FROM A LS GUY.

This video was something I really did not plan to do, but after seeing the outcome, I decided that if i can make such an improvement on the paint, it may help you guys, detail your ride over the winter. The DBG Mustang sat for over 20 years with junk piled on it, and things thrown on it. Paint over spray, all kinds of injuries bumps and scrapes. I decided to try and improve it some what, with just cleaning and waxing. Then I realized how bad it really was and started to read about paint correction as I see it being called. This was a major step for me, have never even attempted anything with paint, other than washing and waxing. What you see in these short 24 minutes, is more like a couple of days, on and off. I apologize for filming my back at first, but this was unplanned. So was the polishers spinning on and out of control, LOL, when I was not ready, what a mess, kids said leave that in, so I did. I would tell you if you have scratches and scrapes, you can remove them if you have clear coat, and make it brand new. I am by no means a body expert, but have had amazing results, and want to share it with you. Bad paint, bad scratches, think about compounding first, cutting off the layers of defect. With either aggressive wool pad, or yellow to orange foam pads. These cut more than polish. After you get the majority of defects buffed out, then you can use the polish of your choice. I was recommended 3M products or Maguire's products. Then polish with a lighter foam pad such as black, or 3m soft polisher pads. The pads vary so make sure your color correlates with aggressive versus soft, and what you trying to accomplish, compound or polish. I have not polished anything yet. My goal was compound the roof, tape off car, paint the inside, trunk, and engine compartment, install wiring harness, and then compound and polish the rest of the car.

This video is something different. My buddy Mike Bratsch from Minnesota builds engines. and has done quite a bit of work on these two Pulling trucks, both are Ford Trucks. They are both named Untangled, with the latter one having "two" added to the name. The first is an older Ford Truck, it runs a 560ci BBF with A-460 heads, it makes 1176/841ftlbs of torque. It is a 4WD. The engines have been built by Both Mike Bratsch, with assistance from and Frank Windingstad of Advanced Performance in North Branch, Minnesota. Lots of machine work is done by Ron Flood. I have heard Ron rocks with the machine work. The dyno is run by Gary, at G&S Dyno in Schafer, Minnesota.
the second Ford truck Puller, is also nam4ed Untangled..Two. that truck, runs a BBF 620ci, with a Tunnel Ram and Thor heads. All the head and intake work done by CFE, Carl Foltz. So you know they are flowing like crazy. That 620 ci BBF, makes 1320hp. There are some idle and runs of both trucks. The plan is to build a 650ci BBF, and put it on Methanol. Stay tuned....

I think I forgot to to add this vid. This video features two separate twin turbo Cleveland cars. The first is Chris Kirlappos XE Falcon, from Sydney, Australia. This mean machine was built over 20 years ago. It is 383 cubic inches, with twin screws, Iron Cleveland Block and 4v heads. The engine features fuel Injection, with engine management through Motec M800 ECU. This build is also from 18 years ago, has never had been apart, or down the track, Chris just got it out of the garage, from sitting for the last year. Said it made 650 hp to the rear tire, at only 5 psi. stay tuned for more on this. The next twin turbo combo, comes from Adrian from New Zealand. Sub here at DragBoss Garage. He said he was at the drags last weekend, and saw this. XY Falcon Ute, talked with the owner, this is another long ago build of 20 years ago. This Ute has gone as fast as 7.30 @187 mph. This 380 cubic inch Cleveland, has made 1600hp to the rear hubs. The engine block is a Ford 351 iron Cleveland block, with iron 4V heads that have had the exhaust port cut off, and high port aluminum plate added. These may have been old pro stock heads, from an effort down under, not sure. But with the custom twin turbo set up, installed in a beautiful XY Falcon, and one piece front end, this is a show stopper too. Don't see a lot of power adder 351 Cleveland's, stay tuned.

First off a special thanks goes out to Jeff Sligh, who contacted me, and hooked me up with his Dad. This is an off the cuff interview with 87 year old Sherman Sligh. Sherman is the man that built the first Pro Stock 351 Cleveland Headed Ford 6 cylinder. The engine block was based on the Ford 300 6 cylinder, and stroked out to 310ci. The head was the same configuration of the iron pro stock 4v head. The intake ports were filled to decrease volume, and increase velocity. The stock exhaust ports were cut off, and an aluminum port plate was bolted on, and ported to matched. This raised the exhaust ports to straighten the port exit. They say it was worth easy 20-25+ hp. What he did was revolutionary in 1969, Sherman cut up 3 Boss 302 cylinder heads, into individual pieces, and placed them on a 6 cylinder block, and welded them all to together. You have to hear him tell the story, unbelievable history. Sherman heated the head pieces to 1500 degrees, while on the block, and welded 12 hrs straight with no bathroom breaks, or food. He did drink 12, 20 .oz Pepsi's . Just listening to this story and his voice makes me smile. 'SHERMAN SAID THAT BOB GLIDDEN WAS THE ONE WHO PUT THE FIRST RAISED ALUMINUM PORT PLATES ON THE FORD 351 CLEVELAND 4V HEADS.. He will be back as there will loads of questions. We will arrange for a live chat if he can get his side of the video worked out by his buddy. Stay Tuned...

This video is an update from episode 34, The Boat Anchor 700hp 438 ci. This is Steve's bracket motor for his 71 Cougar XR-7. The car weighs 3700lbs. Best was 6.97 @ 98.97 mph. At 4500-5000 ft. The combo is based on the Ford 400 block, and was originally 438 ci, It made 703 hp at 6700 rpm. It was 4.050 bore with 4.250 stroke, he since went increased the bore a bit to 4.055, with a 4.350 stroke, 449 ci. He also took the Compression ration down from 14:1 to 13:1. He also decreased the cam by 10 degrees of duration, and also increased the lift. Previously was .728. now is .750. He runs chi 4V heads, topped by UR-19 Tunnel Ram, and two 1050 Dominators. The engine made baseline of 689.1 hp @ 6900, Pulled the air filters, and left the KN stub stacks, and Velocity stacks, and C12, made 706.9 hp @ 6900, He made some adjustments. His best pull was with Stub Stacks only, and made 712.3 hp @ 6800. He also tested 2 Holley Dominator carb sets an old school set of Model 6464, with the velocity stacks built in, and 9575. The 9575 made the best power overall. For all the information, and dyno specs/engine specs, all information at the top of the dyno sheet, stop the vid and read it lots of great info. Thanks for watching, see how it runs at the track. Big shout out to Steve Kenzle for sharing with DBG, and also Pierre Guyon who owns Dyno Plus, and puts the Anchor through the paces.

I titled this video The Rarest Ford 351 Cleveland, for the simple reason that it is a one of a kind Ford Motorsports Prototype single plane design, made to fit Cleveland iron 4V heads. There an obviously mismatch, with the intake slightly smaller, but really was worked well by the porter. It fits unported iron Cleveland 4Vs like a glove. It is a air gap type intake. It is actually 2 pieces, that have been epoxied or welded tough say for sure. May even have had a water port on side, see the pic, but does not go anywhere. The intake is actually 2 pieces, with the valley pan being separate. The intake was from John Corrunker's '72 Maverick super stock car. He hailed from Massachusetts. The intake was used on a 351 Cleveland combination, and ran 10.30s, back in '79-80. I do not know anything else in regards to his combination The intake may have come from Jack Roush, or Al Buckmaster. Those two used to hang with John back in the day, from what I have read. Quite a unique intake, I think we better test it on the dyno. I also added a little giveaway, I made a blooper in the last 3 months, so find it and tell me what it is in the comments. see the video for better description. I also want to thanks Bruce Sizemore for getting in contact with me. Watch the video to see what he offered DBG. Thanks for watching and stay tuned.

This video is one my daughters, Izzy, and Alaina thought of. They like to watch people opening up surprise eggs. A surprise egg, is a packed egg, that has toys inside. You never know what you will get. Kids love them. I was telling them, that grown ups are the same, or at least guys that like to work on engines, and race. We love to get packages in the mail, and see nice new shiny parts or some old race part, or collectible. I do get a lot of packages they say, I told them, they could make their own videos, and open up all my parts boxes. Big Shoutout to Bill KochStay tuned for them opening up more surprises. Hey Parts is Parts.

made this video to show you guys the before and after pics of the 4 Holley List 6464 Dominators, that were restored by D/C Carbs. David Cook owns D/C carbs, and is a racer. He had built a couple of Holley 660 Center squirters, that I saw on Mike Weaks' 67 Ford Fairlane. These carbs were originally from Dr. Ron Berges, of Dr. Ron Racing. They looked fantastic, and ran flawlessly. I decided to call David, and see if he wanted to restore the Holley Dominators I have for my Pro Stock 351 Cleveland builds. He did not hesitate to agree. We had talked about the plan of the Pro Stock Cleveland's, I wanted to build. He suggested some changes, especially the boosters, to a more modern design, and some his own mods. Well I have to say they are unbelievable in detail. He does stellar work, and his customer service is second to none. He also rebuilt Dr. Ron's set of Holley Dominators, for his AR Ford Hemi Pro Stock T-Bird, he is restoring/building. It will be a killer car. I will try to get some vids and an interview with Dr. Ron. I appreciate the personal service David Cook, gave DragBoss Garage. Thanks so much D/C Carbs

This is Fred Carlier's 96 Cobra clone. It is a Chrome-Moly back half car. It's powered by 408 cubic inches of stroked Ford 351 Cleveland. He runs the TrackBoss Performance Products, oil filter adapter, which allows for a bigger inlet type filter to be used, Wix 1268 oil filter, versus the old Ford FL1A. He did the oil mods from one of my previous videos on this topic. He also uses the front to rear oil line from TrackBoss. The 408 Cleveland is has a set of Blue Thunder 3.6s, that have been cut down to 47cc. Fred figures about 14:1 CR. The Intake he runs is a unported Edelbrock 2991 Victor 351 Y, which was made for running Yates C3 heads on a 9.2 DH. The cam is Comp Cams roller with .727 lift, Pro Systems SV-1 1160cfm Carb. The 408 Cleveland Dynoed at 717 hp @ 6900 rpm. Fred runs a C6 with a 4800 stall convertor. He is thinking he needs more like 5500 rpm. He runs 4.56 gears out back.Cobra has run a best of 6.19 @ 111.89 mph. He figures he get to 5.80-90s with some tuning. Thanks Fred for watching DragBoss Garage. Stay tuned....

Just showing some progress with both the TrackBoss 427 Cleveland, and the Custom step headers/ Merge Collectors. Darin Morgans Secret A3, heads are based on the stock A3 head. These are the first of the Ford Motorsport aluminum heads. These A3 heads were first made in 1982. There was an early style, that had exhaust bolt spacing of 2.77 inches, the later Ford Motorsport heads were then all 2.98 inches. Since my current 409 Cleveland has the early style heads, my custom headers are being made to fit them. The secret A3 heads, happened to have one early and one later style A3 head. So Darin Morgan re welded the top hole, re drilled, and tapped with early bolt spacing. This way I can use my new custom stainless steel steel headers being built for the Current combo/heads. The combustion chambers have been welded up, to make into the modern day chamber you see on all the newer heads. They are 59.8 cc chamber volume. The C302B heads were the closest shape to the modern day combustion chamber, you can see and compare. When he welded up the combustion chamber, also changes location of spark plug. To center and locate correctly, have to sink the spark plug deeper into the combustion chamber, otherwise will be shrouded, and not exposed well to the air fuel mixture. He said the new combustion chamber is so much more efficient. The pic, says that I will only need 29-30 degrees of timing at 8500-9000rpm. Springs I think may be PAC 1246, Darin Morgan said they will be 385 on the seat, and good to .965 of gross valve lift. He is going to design the cam. The remainder of the TrackBoss 427 Cleveland is at BES, Bischoff Racing Engines. Now working on choosing pistons, and cam. Bischoff will start machining the TrackBoss Block soon. . The headers are being built by JP at Custom Chassis And Headers, in Pataskala, Ohio. these headers are going on the 409 Cleveland that I just dynoed. With single 1050 cfm carb made 775 hp. with the current 4150 carb, made 769hp, should get me my 9.50 time slip. JP is building a custom set of stainless steel headers that have 2 inch primary, that are stepped up to 2 1/8, and also constructing a set of Cone Engineering 7 degree Merge collectors. Hopefully get these done in next couple of weeks, so I can get engine in with new motor plate, go through the trans, and make it to the opening day at Summit raceway on April 16, 2022. Stay tuned.
