Yea, it’s 2725 now with no ballast/no driver. Pretty sure 2550-2600 is pretty easily attainable for us this year, even with a mild steel backhalf and cage
Ya I bet you could get there. We had BBC in ours at that weight.5" ex and mufflers to the rear housing.I think our SBC days we were 2600.But we also have all alum eng LS deal in all out effort nova that is 2225 w driver.Thats what we street and no prep with.I do not believe in ballast in large amounts .I work at getting my four corners where I want so chassis not working hard to compensate.

Definitely works better without having to add weight

Got in touch with Andy at Smith Racecraft today. He told me all of the factory style suspension components that we already have are compatible with their frame. He also told me that unmodified factory frames are in the 110-120lb range, where theirs is about 60. So for us, we’d save around 50lbs of weight. Definitely may be an option at the end of this season. We’ll see how much time we have between this car and mine to get involved in it.

Pretty sure the steering box was behind the oem k member. The rack was done by the previous owner, along with the control arms.

We were slamming beers in the garage one night and I was looking at the car and noticed the RF tire was back pretty far in the wheel opening, and the LF was all the way at the front of it. Turns out there’s 2” of stagger built into the control arms. The wheelbase is 112” on one side and 110” on the other. We have 27” tall front tires on it, so between that, the stagger, and with this little motor that’s in it, it’s challenging to cut a good light. Definitely have to stage it pretty deep.

Ah. I have a unisteer rear steer rack here, manual, if anyone needs one. Won't fit with my LS oil pan.

My local buddy's old Nova is all fiberglass, doors, hood, doors, trunk lid..... even with the BBC I'm sure it's really light.

Got some new ladder bars going together for now. Going to try and make them adjustable where the two portions of the bar intersect. Seems arguable whether or not it will make a difference, a few say yes, most say no. I kind of lean towards no, but I’ve never tried so I can’t say for sure. Not much extra work to try it out for ourselves. Also was able to grab a nice set of used champion front wheels that weigh a few lbs less than our 3 piece weld magnums, and look much more modern. Engine, trans, and old ladder bars are coming out this weekend.

Had some time at lunch to do a little more on the ladder bars. Got the engine and trans out yesterday. Hoping to finish the ladder bars this week and get them test fit in the car.
