I have always sprayed 225hp and then a 350hp (2 plates stacked) on my sbc 406, 750dp holley, solid roller 660 lift cam, with an old 144 weiand supercharger. engine made about 600 hp with 144 but without nos and I am wondering if I was really getting gain out of all of the NOS.

So now I have gotten rid of the 144 and looking at the weiand 177 or Blower Shop 192. I have a 950 quick fuel holley now. I am wanting to stay away from twin carbs and larger blower for fitment and simplicity.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Erik, what experience do you have with this type stuff?

Thats kind of what I was looking for. If the 177 or 192 will allow me to spray it to 1100 hp or so.......or would it too be restrictive like the 144.

Its a street rod, so old school looks of the blower is needed. No hood clearance issues (no hood) but a 2 carb 8 71 blower wouldnt work without body modifications and like I said I really want single carb simplicity.

pdq67 are you saying the 177 is shorter than the old 144?

Just got off the phone with Whipple superchargers as well as browsing their website, they got some bad dude stuff but very pricey. One of their street carbureted tuner superchargers with intercooler would be the lick..... if I had $7000 to spend. Double the cost of a Blower Shop 192 supercharger.

Feeling defeated today and about ready to just order the Weiand 177.

Kinda, dont know if it will get raced on the street though. Definately will be playing in the game somewhere.
