I thought there was a thread like this, but I can't find it.
(there was a thread like this some years back. It may have gotten purged with some old members)

This is small stuff as compared to what some of you guys do.

The past few times the 565 has been on the dyno I've used the old setup for the MSD crank trigger with the Danny Bee belt drive, and then switched over the the Innovations West flying magnet setup when put in the boat.

I had some down time before the up coming dyno date, so I decided to pull things apart and get the Innovators West and the Danny Bee belt drive set-up to work together. I needed to make another timing pointer. The new pointer needed to be taller and the pointer needed to be shorter. ..I got it right on the third try ...lol

Put the cut off screw in a drill press and took a die grinder to it as it spun.

Maybe post your shop work in this thread ?

Tested the new water tanks and front blast. Loaded up the loader with the concrete ballast, 400 pounds plus the loader bucket 170 pounds, for 570 pounds front ballast. Filled the water tanks with an estimated load of 650 pounds.

The three point had no problem lifting the water tanks to full height. Took the tractor for a test drive, and was pleasantly surprised with the stable ride.

400 pound concrete ballast.

Weight loss. Today, I pulled another 75lbs out of my '84 Corvette. Door panels, insulation, wiring, connectors/harnesses, HVAC ducting, various other shit..

That one piece of rubber/insulation on the cabin firewall weighed in at 16lbs... All of the HVAC ducting/plastic/heater-core was only 15lbs. Crazy.

I am putting a Chi-Ram on the 6.0 with LS3 top. I am trying to keep the weight differential right. Pulling as much weight as I can out of the mid/front area of the car.

Next, I have to cut a hole in the hood for the intake. While I am at that, I am going to cut out all of the bracing, remove the latching system, and go with hood pins. One day I will eventually go with a lightweight hood, but for now, I will trim some more out of the outrageously heavy '84 C4 hood.

Cool weather is coming up, school is in, and now Daddy has a little time in between work projects.

I can't wait to get in the car and start logging and tuning. I roll race mainly, and looking for a 130mph+ trap. She was close before in cool air, but I think the mods and weight reduction should do it!

The only thing I’ve been able to do car related in the past 2 weeks is I ordered a Reid Super 80. Other than that I’ve been working with my best friend and his boys doing tear off and roof prep. Switching from steel to class 4 shingles requires switching all the gutter apron, drip edge, rake and facia trim. Pretty proud that I’ve been able to not use any of these hundreds of FKN illegals that are on every single roof in the hood.

It was time for an update... Long past due:
Replaced the old peedo Liquid filled speedometer:

Its' been in the boat since '91. The thing is accurate to 2% at 100 mph. It's nuts how accurate it was.

New hole in dash. Had to take the 4" hole out to 4.625". I didn't have that big of hole-saw, so I dropped it off to a local friend on Friday morning to blow the hole out for me.

21st century upgrade :
Got it bolted in and wired today.

Won't use all of it, but about 92% of it.

Top speed recall, trip odometer, odometer and hour meter functions.
