I would go with VFN FIBERGLASS. Better quality in my opinion.

 

Can't speak to that hood specifically, but I know of more than a few from them that required a lot of work to make them fit just right. The extra labor alone is worth spending the extra money on a better quality hood.......imo.

 

VFN was very helpful when I needed measurements for my 4" bolt on cowl hood. It has not been totally fitted yet, but cosmetically it looks very good

 

A member on here BFLY is a great source for VFN fiberglass. Give him a PM.

 

VFN Seems to make a good product had a one piece front clip on a gen II camaro from them.

Glasstec is the best I’ve seen/used. Scuff, primer sealer, paint. No bodywork needed. Awesome.

My stuff was complete crap, and the lady that answered the photo's was a rude ass bitch when I complained.
At one time they had over 22 open BBB complaints that they refused to reply to.
Every forum I'm on has multiple pissed off customers because they were ripped off or cheated.

I don't give a damn what a couple of ass lickers say, they are liars & thieves.
I've seen some of their latest so called improved, great work, and it was an embarrassment!!!!

I have two Unlimited doors I had made for my racecar 20 years ago. They are in my rafters because they were such pieces of shit. Never even attempted to use them.

Considered smashing them into a beer case box and sending them back when I got them.

 

I bought some bumper brackets for my Dart, sent them back because of the quality. Before I sent them back I talked to Kevin at Unlimited, he said, "send them back, I'll take care of you." I guess he did, it's been over a year since he signed for them and I still haven't got any $ back. I wouldn't use them if they were the only fiberglass place in the world.

 

I bought an Unlimited hood about thirty years ago and it was total crap, sounds like they haven't improved at all over the years. I have has good luck with Glasstec fiberglass parts. You will spend a little more but the quality is excellent.

I saw stuff from last summer, and it was better than the crap I got, but it was still a joke.
The guy was so happy & proud of his new stuff and I laughed my ass off.
The surface finish was barely adequate, and the rough side was an embarrassment.
The bracing was horrible, nasty as frick looking!!!!

My Glasstek parts made his look like it was made by children.

As for that POS kevin, it's been posted multiple times he's a lying thief, same as the owner!!!

Amazing how long poorly crafted parts manufacturers can bamboozle thepublic and stay in business. Glasstek or VFN for the win. You get what you pay for.

 

I had Unlimited front wings & pair of doors. I eventually switched to a VFN one piece. The unlimited needed so much work, I probably have close on 150hours in the doors. The VFN product is superb, hardly any prep required, was also lighter.

I wouldn’t use Unlimted again..

 

There will always be some who are barely able to do this and will buy on price. I am as low budget as they come, but did not buy their product because of info. like this. Harwood was pretty darn good for what i paid.

 

I bought unlimited hoods a few times in the late 80s. Wavy junk that fell apart. They are to fiberglass parts about the same as G.E.R was to converters. Big adds with great prices back in the day and both were junk.

 

I had a VFN hood with a molded on Harwood 5" cowl. Can't say what the fit and finish was new as my dad had the car, but they made it fit and it looked very nice. Problem is that it's "race car" and this combo weighed 36lb. To be fair I "believe" that this hood was set up for bracing for lightweight hood hinges so that may have added lbs.

I already had a Unlimited bumper that required next to nothing but paint, so I ordered their "race weight" hood with a 5" cowl. This hood fits "race car" good enough, required very little work, and weighs 15lb with paint and 8 quick latches. This hood was so thin that you could literally see light through it in spots, but it's what I wanted and it works fine for me. Another reason I tried them was that I saw three of their hoods in Vegas and they were "race car" nice. A big reason I gave them a shot was that I'm only about 3hrs from Hesperia and it wouldn't bother me a bit to take a day off of work and go visit them "personally" if I had a problem. I'll be buying a couple more items from them.

 

Its true that if you looking for the lightest weight stuff and it doesnt have to look really good that would be the way to go but for me it didnt hold up either.

I bought a complete front end for my 67 Camaro from unlimited.. Complete garbage, not one correct fitting piece.. payed tons at body shop to get it close... after about six years, it cracked all to hell.. just my experience... good luck

 

I ended up going with Harwood again, I've always had good luck with them. Thanks for the replies. Local shop was able to knock a few dollars off and free shipping. Sounds like unlimited is a total waste. I'll try to post some pics when I get it fit and pinned on.
