At least they are attempting to make changes that support the class.

They could have waited till the offseason to make changes and then seen what happened in the springtime. But by the time every body's program was together in the spring time the season would be 1/2 way over....lol. At least with a change now they will have a better understanding on changes that can and will be addressed in the off season.

Dam I'm liking Dave's thinking. Can i lose the 100lbs added to me cause of Pevlor? 3000lbs sounds like figting weight for me

personally i think the 5580 will be ok with the extra 50, 47 and 400 based units should each have 50 off respectively.
3100 cast 76
3150 billet 76
3200 cast 80
3250 55-80
i think would put it tighter, I (me) would like the 50 off boosted LS as well but i'll wait on that one to see if i have a chance of keeping up

Don't know if you wanna go there as that opens up a shit storm.

If he was pulled from Nitrous X to run Ultimate and was light, then that's fucked up. How would you like to lose knowing the competitor you lost to was illegal. May have not been Shawn's fault, but...

Also, when he crossed the scales the run should have been thrown out if indeed he was light.

Now if he ran at race weight (what I'm hoping is true), then he simply has a bad hot rod.

Take another 50 off for RR 23* head since that combo hasn't been consistently in the 4s after the weight penalty. Let's speed this class up closer to X!

Dave,

Ill be sitting this one out after going to almost every Cecil ultra race in the last 2 1/2 years. The current 80mm turbo can't compete with the 5580 turbo + 50lbs and the F1C'ish +50 lbs. The current 80mm turbo would need -150lbs to be competitive with those. I got my doors blown off by a nitrous car in the Georgia finals that ran a 4.900, thats a whole other story.

Not for anything, but we will be there saturday weather permitting, guns blazing. Was it fair when earlier this year that our combo (23* non rr) was hit with 50lb? Of course not, there's nobody flying with that combo (thats a cecil regular anyway) but it got hit, and we still show up to race. This class will surely not last long with every person trying to lobby an advantage for their own personal combo. Sorry, that's the way I see it despite anyone wanting to admit it or not.

Wait Wait................ we agree on something?.?.? I truly don't know what brought this rule change on. the blower was illegal all year someone buys one and runs it anyway then its legal  ..

Just wondering what combination has had the advantage? Dont understand how a blower that was not allowed in from the beginning is now in.....and with a 50lb hit? And then letting a turbo back in that was banned because it was running faster then what the intent of the class was from the start.

What happen small changes? Keeping things in check not opening up rules...and have tec look for ram air/frontal air..openings in air stream..with blowers and turbos.
Good luck to everyone involved.

I'm to slow to have a dog in the fight. However I am a little disappointed to see changes being made to speed guys up to hang with other combos instead of slowing the faster combo down. I really hate to see this be a 4.90 class when the original intentions were a 5.teen class. Eventually I will be in the teens but a .0 or a .90 is never going to happen.

I can however see where Rob and John are coming from. I can understand how frustrating it would be to put all the time and money into there operation and still be a tenth behind.

Hopefully Dave is trying to use these last two races to get a feel where everybody will be at next year so he can make the adjustments. Good luck to everybody this weekend wish I could make it.
