TH400 has no forward gears

Ok, so it worked fine when I made a single pass before I pulled my engine 6 weeks ago. I put in the same engine back in and now only reverse works.

I had the trans rebuilt 2 years ago. Only 5 passes or so due to building a new car etc etc. TH400 reverse pattern. Fluid levels are fine.
What could be wrong? Will I have to pull it to get it fixed? I don’t speak transmission, so please forgive me.

Doesn't move in any forward gears?

Sounds like it's coming out regardless so there's no benefit from guessing the problem.

Yeah it’s doesn’t engage any forward gears. Reverse like normal.

I would verify the shift linkage, I have seen some crazy things, esp on the shifter arms.

I’ve moved it very slow through the gears hoping to catch something but nothing. We didn’t remove the trans when we pulled the motor, Im wondering if I damaged it somehow when reinstalling it.

Broken forward clutch hub or mainshaft.

For those interested. Ended up frying all my clutch discs due to faulty trans cooler.

The oil cooler does not usually cause clutch burning. Please explain?

I used the trans cooler built into my radiator and probably left my TransBrake on longer than I should have. overheated My trans.
